Come to MO. Red state, good gun laws, small mountains in the south (more hills, but pretty country) and you can experience all 4 seasons in a single weekend. Can be rural with land yet less than an hour from the city. Cost of living way less than CA. Here even in the suburbs you can get a 4 bed 3 bath house for under 300k Strive to live your life so when you wake up in the morning and your feet hit the floor, the devil says "Oh crap, he's up."

I'm just going to say that there isn't any state more conservative than Oklahoma. As evidence, consider that in the last 3 presidential elections there were -0- blue counties. Just sayin'. and yes, there are mountains in Oklahoma.

I've been thinking northern Idaho or northwestern Montana in a few years (or maybe sooner if Oregon becomes as liberal as it seems to be going). But then I grew up in north-central Montana until I entered high school, so snow doesn't bother me. In fact I miss it. I've also considered Alaska, although that quake last week has me rethinking that, at least the Anchorage/Kenai area. Fairbanks, maybe?

Pima County AZ (Tucson)is search for County Corrections officers. I don't know the pay scale and Tucson is a very Liberal area. And during Summer months, it does get hot down here. ********* "Some people are alive today because it's against the law to kill them".

well don't rule out Arizona we need help going red again weather wise, there are places in the state that get three solid seasons and while it can be abysmally hot down here in Tucson, it is generally a few degrees cooler than Phoenix and there is lots to do [B] Against ALL enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC

He has described Southern Kentucky exactly. If you want to stay in corrections you can easily get a spot a USP McCreary. https://www.bop.gov/locations/...utions/mcr/index.jsp Make very good money there and southern KY cost of living is very low. Only rub is you are about an hour and a half from a major city. Lexington, KY to the north and Knoxville, Tenn. to the south. We own 19 acres on Jellico Mountain east of the prison and 24 acres west of the prison. I thought about working at the prison but that was not the life for me. Not much other serious employment around there. Though retirement work at the prison would be no issue for you. While tornadoes aren’t fully out of the realm of possibilities here they are not very common. And this state won’t be blue or even purple for that matter anytime soon if ever. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. You should know I'll be there for you!

Lancaster, PA. Lititz to be more precise. Voted best small town 2 years ago maybe 3. Meets all your requirements. People are nice, pretty cool sitting in horse and buggy traffic. Not terribly far from mountains, water sports, etc. I moved here from New York City 15 years ago. We have the whole white picket fence thing going on. Just about ZERO Crime. Just a great place to live and worthy of a tiny bit of research. Good luck ! ______________________________ " Formally known as GotDogs "

Southern Indiana but keep your mouth shut about it. ![]() California money would go a long, long way around the Hoosier National Forest or Patoka Lake area. Bring your money with you because it's hard to make money in Orange County or Crawford Co area but it's beautiful, relatively unspoiled country with some of the best gun laws anywhere. ________________________ God spelled backwards is dog

Here’s what I did: I google places with... The best weather The lowest cost of living The best retirement The best gun rights Etc Etc I looked at the places that showed up several times across the list. For weather I actually used “weather closest to San Francisco Bay Area weather as I want minimal to no snow and no extremes either. The system works. For example, Asheville, NC came up several times except for having a higher cost of living than the country’s average "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." or western NC, its too hot & expensive in Nashville I located TN concealed carry by county Stats & ran the numbers. 1 out of every 6 registered voters has a permit in most eastern counties compared to 1 out of 20 in Nashville. The 1st Congressional district (upper east TN) has been only Republican since 1881! __________________________________________________ If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit! NC is the way to go. Mountains and lakes, beaches, gun friendly, affordable land, lots of transplants so you won’t feel like an outsider _______________________________________________ Use thumb-size bullets to create fist-size holes.

I'll go one better than NC, which is getting too filled up: Tennessee. I had the opportunity to go to Chattanooga on business not long ago, and was impressed by the low housing prices, the wide range of cultural activities, the upscale and trendy dining scene, the proximity to mountains and historic Civil War sites, the weather (yup, all four seasons, but not horrific snow). It's solidly on my retirement radar! You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless. East Tennessee. Yeah, they're more like big hills than mountains, but it's still nice. Montana/Wyoming/Idaho will have cold winters.

Just don't delay too long, there's a cutoff age of 37 for federal CO slots. From the link you provided: The Attorney General has determined that the initial appointment of employees into Federal BOP law enforcement positions must be prior to your 37th birthday.

Is Texas really circling the drain of progressivism? After spending a week in Fort Worrh doing flight training in the summer a few years ago, I’d pass on that area for weather, but maybe other parts of Texas have weather I’d like better. Weather aside, I really enjoyed the people there, some of the nicest and most polite folks. It just seems hard to believe Texas would go blue... with

The West side of Washington could meet your requirements. You can work in Spokane and live in ID. I have friends that do just that. Get out now, that's 8 more years of better living. https://www.governmentjobs.com...jobOpportunitiesJobs
