Not as good as the plasma gun but, cant remember where I learned it, but this was fun till I accidentally broke the jug;

Take an empty glass 5-gallon water jug, put some rubbing alcohol in it, swish around and drop a match in it.

You get that woosh sound out the top and then the VERY colorful flame swirls around inside the jug for a little bit. The kids enjoy it.
