200 rounds of ammo, one Claymore, six frags, a half of a roll of buttwipe, one pack of Lucky Strikes, one Bic lighter, a sleeve of Ritz crackers, and a can of SPAM. That oughta get me home. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Doug Patton.

I feel inadequate because I don’t even have an EDC Backpack. In my EDC pockets I carry keys, a Swiss Army “Climber” Knife, some sort of a smallish handgun, a wallet, and my phone.

A water bottle, a travel coffee mug, spare hearing aid batteries, my lunch, and sometimes a laptop. I figure if I get stuck in a massive riot or earthquake, I'll be able to hear and drink coffee.

My pack is only EDC on vacations to theme parks, etc. The top items have been a hydroflask, Anker phone charger pack, and some cheap sunglasses with case as extras. The Hydroflask is great because you can fill it with ice and refill with water multiple times, still having ice.

In the small bag I carry in the trunk: 1.Small notepad and pen 2.Small denomination of cash in small bills 3.Handwipes/baby wipes (travel size) 4.Extra toiletries: toothbrush, travel size tube of tooth paste, deodorant (travel size), and a little bottle of mouth wash, and floss. 5.My MP 40 compact with two-three extra mags. 6. A Knife and two small Pelican flashlights that run on either a single or double AA. 7. Aspirin, band aids, and Imodium AD Also an extra pair of underwear, and t-shirt Depending on the time of year a set of the light thermals. (the ones Uncle Same issued me) I have since started to carry a little box of packets to add to water such as lemonade, Hawaiian punch etc.. I used to carry a lot of items even on vacation. I have always over packed but when I had to live out of a rucksack when deployed to AFG, it is amazing on how little I can get by with.

Conveniently located directly above the center of the Earth |
every time I start to assemble an EDC I get a few items in a pile & then some other distraction sets in suddenly....then I run across the remains of my previous BOB assortment & before that gets better organized the mummified wrist rocket with spare elastic straps demands further attention which fails to produce a workable solution, then it's lunch time & firewood/other chores intervene then an errand or 2 & picking up the stuff that fell out of the sack when the bottom suddenly failed...then... I realize this sounds like some sort of excuse, yet I have all the pocket stuff & vehicle stuff packed away...somewhere **************~~~~~~~~~~ "I've been on this rock too long to bother with these liars any more." ~SIGforum advisor~ "When the pain of staying the same outweighs the pain of change, then change will come."~~sigmonkey

I'm a grad student in computer science at the moment, so my usual backpack has all my school stuff in it - laptop, pens and pencils, whiteboard markers, paper, headphones, etc. I actually don't carry a laptop charger any more - I got tired of dealing with it, so I bought a second one and just leave one at my office and one at home. I also have two pouches that I move around to whatever bag I'm using in general, whether it's my school bag or a travel bag or whatever. One is a Maxpedition pouch about the size of a paperback book that has med stuff in it: Booboo stuff: Tylenol Aleve Tums Benadryl Bandaids Neosporin Antiseptic wipes Emergency stuff: Gloves CPR barrier Quikclot gauze Z-fold gauze Elastic Bandage Tourniquet I also have a bigger Vanquest pouch (a bit bigger than two-paperbacks) that has "useful stuff" - basically, things that I added to the pouch after, more than once, saying "I wish I had ... right now." Checkbook Stamps Pen Pencil Sharpie Small snap-blade Olfa knife Ruler Hand Sanitizer Q-tips Nail clipper Nail file Tweezers Rubber Bands velcro ties Tiny USB wall charger Tiny USB car charger Small USB backup battery Tiny USB cables for USB-C, micro, lightning Binder clips Lockpicks Bic Lighter Klein Electrician's Scissors (small, but will cut ANYTHING) Tiny Wera hex bit ratchet and bit holder Assorted screwdriver bits USB memory key chapstik earplugs insect repellent wipes lens cleaning wipes fresnel magnifying card 5" Knipex pliers wrench 5" Knipex cobra wrench flushable wipes mini Rite in the Rain notepad super glue electrical tape tape measure 2x lithium AAA Conspicuously absent is a flashlight - that's because I always have a Surefire Titan Plus 1xAAA light in my pocket on my keychain, which is also the reason for the 2x lithium AAA in the pouch - spare batteries for the flashlight.

Oh stewardess, I speak jive. |
I have a small-ish backpack with some useful stuff in it that I often lug around when out in the mountains. It has an AR Pistol with a Law folding adapter and a couple of extra magazines, flashlight, knife, headlamp, a 2nd G29 in a small chest rig with extra magazines. I used to have a G20 in there but I got rid of it to replace it with a G40 with an RMR setup, which I haven't gotten around to yet. There's another small bag with first aid/etc in vehicle, as well as extra shoes, socks, gloves, clothes and such too, since I'm in the mountains a lot.
