Only reason I knew there was a dispute is the YouTube app no longer worked.
So I just open it up in the Firefox browser which defaults to the YouTube page anyway.

That's great for YouTube. But I don't really care about YouTube. What I do care about is being able to use Amazon Prime Video, which you cannot do on Android TV devices, because there's no app for it.

Yet, naturally, there is an APV app on the Amazon Fire devices. You know what OS they're using, right?

Amazon has always been great to me. In a recent mixup on their part they gave me a $100.00 gift card for my inconvenience.

And another “good on you, Amazon”…

“Just weeks after passing a new tax on big businesses, Seattle political leaders signaled late Monday they would reverse course and repeal it.

Mayor Jenny Durkan and city council President Bruce Harrell said in statements that they would end the tax, initially meant to combat rising homelessness in a city where housing prices have soared.

"We heard you," Durkan and seven of the nine city council members said in a statement. "This week, the City Council is moving forward with the consideration of legislation to repeal the current tax on large businesses to address the homelessness crisis.

Business groups, led by the city's largest employers like Amazon and Starbucks, had raised $200,000 in just a few weeks to gather signatures for a referendum challenging the new tax. They had planned to submit those signatures on Tuesday in an effort to place the referendum on the November ballot…”

Can you really fault them????
Companies restrict options to their customers all the time.
Send your Glock to Sig and ask them to put a Nitron finish on it and let me know their response.
Will you stop buying Sigs?

Go to Cracker Barrel get a big to go order and walk over to Bob Evans’s and have a seat at the table let me know the response.

Take your Six Flags season pass to Disney World.

Need I go on??

I can and I do. If Amazon Prime Video isn't fully-supported on Android TV devices come Amazon Prime renewal time: Amazon Prime will be history with us.

Not so ludicrous as to you being pissed of a company is not putting their software out on a competitors hardware.

I am not sure why it is so upsetting to you that a company would restrict or not develop an app to be used on their competitors hardware??

I can’t use Apple Airplay on my Amazon or Roku devices. I am not going to dump my iPhone and all Apple products because of it.

Always just use the chat option in the contact us section works just fine.

I spoke to someone once as I ordered a TV and twice it arrived broken. I actually spoke with someone but they called me and spoke mighty fine English.

A few years ago I wrote their number down. I'm not sure how I found it but it was probably buried on their website somewhere. My wife has it somewhere in a note book. I rarely need to call them but when I do, I can. That is how I received the gift card the last time I had an issue. By the way, I seldom have an issue with Amazon.

Who said anything about being "pissed?" This is a question of value loss, therefore I'll stop buying the product.

Currently $99/year for free more-or-less two-or-three day shipping and Amazon Prime Video. (And Music, I think?) It's going up to $120/year on our next renewal and I may not be able to use Prime Video any longer.

This got me to wondering: "Should we dump Amazon Prime?"

I can buy a lot of 2nd day shipping for $120/year. That's when I need it from Amazon. Last three "bigger" purchases I found right here, locally, for the same price or lower. Plus both Walmart and Best Buy are offering 2nd day shipping at no charge--with no annual fee.

You mean like, for example, Roku? Or Sony? Or Apple TV? Or any number of other streaming devices? Amazon's not supporting Prime Video on Android TV devices because they're arguing with Google. (Near as I can tell: Amazon started it. And I'm no fan of Google's. In fact: I like Amazon. Google: Not so much.)

Note that I may be dumping Roku, as well, and for a similar reason: The OTA network tuner device I intend to use is not supported on Roku devices.

I'm not "upset" with Roku or with Amazon. They just may not serve my needs going forward.

You would appear to feel I should buy their stuff, anyway

Now that makes sense earlier you made no mention of the cost/benefit factor only they were putting their customers in the middle of their disagreement by not offering their app on Android devices.

Well, they are. Search on something like "Google Amazon fight" or the like. It's no coincidence Amazon Prime Video isn't available on Android TV devices, but is available on Android mobile devices and just about every other streaming device.

I am well aware of it. My point is that it is no different than the vast majority of competing companies I am not sure why they would or should be any different.

The USPS bit off more than it can chew with the Amazon contract. Tell me how on time delivery can occur when 50 Amazon parcels show up half an hour before closing time in a small one person office when that clerk also has to wait on counter customers?

That one person office does not have delivery service. They will scan the parcels as attempted delivery and leave a notice in the customers P.O. Box. So yes, the service requirement has been met.

The USPS does a great job delivering Amazon parcels. I even get them on Sundays.

Sorry, I missed this.

They stopped updating many of the apps and the user interface. Netflix is still the old interface with the star ratings and the static summary page. Also the auto play of all episodes feature is not available.
Granted the app still works and everything is still viewable in Netflix case no a huge deal.

Nick Jr and Disney Jr on the other hand were no longer watchable.

Disney combined all of their channels to one app and that did not work properly.
Nick Jr changed the way you log in on the app and the old app would no longer work so I could get nothing but the trial episodes.

Plus the thing just became so ridiculously slow. Hardware limitations likely.

I inquired about the apps not updating with Roku and their response was sorry we do not even bother to give support help with these models anymore.

There is a reason Amazon keeps selling more and more stuff, and part of it is that they have really great customer service.

Nobody is perfect, but every time I have contacted them, the rep has gone above and beyond. I think they "get" the name of the game, which is that keeping customers is a lot cheaper than acquiring new ones.
