Got a Lay off notice today
Sorry to hear that, I know that is like a kick to gut. A lot of us here have been in that same situation so it's a good place to sound-off and get some advice. Good luck on the fresh new start.

Sorry to hear it Frown. I was laid-off once and it was a decidedly un-happy experience.

Thank you all for the kind words and support.

The relief of not having to commute 2.5 hours a day for the foreseeable future is outweighing the worry of uncertainty.

Maybe consider driving for UBER in the meantime. You keep busy, make a little money to keep the bills paid, and have a totally flexible schedule where you can still go to interviews and such....

I have never been in Arkansas, where OP's location says he is. I wonder just how much demand there is for Uber.
