Six-Year-Old Boy Sacrifices Himself To Save Little Sister From Dog Attack
Jul 15, 2020

5.5K
The story of six-year-old Bridger Walker heroics has gone viral.

Bridger jumped in front of a dog that was running to attack his little sister.

He sacrificed himself for his sister’s sake and received 90 stitches on his face.

Bridger’s aunt, Nikki Walker, shared the story on instagram, writing “My nephew is a hero who saved his little sister from an attacking dog. He, himself, took on the attack so that the dog wouldn’t get his sister. He later said, “If someone was going to die, I thought it should be me.” He got home from the hospital last night. I know it’s a long shot, but I’m reaching out to the Avengers and other heroes so that they can learn about this latest addition to their ranks.”

His aunt said that a "skilled plastic surgeon" helped treat Bridger's injuries with 90 stitches "give or take"—she said he's now resting at home.

She says “his wounds are looking so much better! He’s in great spirits, and his awesome personality is intact.

The family have been inundated with requests to send donations to Bridger but Walker says her nephew “is a huge fan of science, especially geology. So I’m going to start a post where people can share with him pictures of cool rocks that they see.”

About the dog that attacked Bridger, Yahoo reports:

“...Walker also updated concerned people with information on the dog involved in the attack.
“The dog’s owners are really great people who have been nothing but kind to Bridger and his family.
“We feel no resentment toward them at all, and—if anything—there’s only been an increase of love between our families as a result of this incident,” she wrote

Atta boy! The rest of the details of the story kind of hint at where he gets his character though. Family not looking to cash in on offers of gofundme and not suing the dog owners or publicly shaming them.

The headline should read, "Bad thing happened to good people and they handled it reasonably and relatively quietly in today's society".

This kid is a true hero in my opinion compared to what our country has been calling some people as heroes lately.

Lady, please, you have a real life hero in your home, there. He's worth a million times more than any fake heroes you're trying to contact..

He's only six, and he's more of a man than most adult males. I hope his injuries are completely healed in time.

That's a real big brother. His sister's going to remember her hero forever.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

The dog needs to go if it hasn't been euthanized.
I love animals but animals like that need to go.

That young boy loves his sister. Having to face such a challenge so early in life proves that he is mature beyond his age. A true hero for acting so quickly protecting a loved one!

Now that is a true hero. A hero is one who has performed a heroic act. My flame suit sez that those who go to work everyday and just do their jobs, even when facing dangers, while that may be a noble undertaking, they are not HEROES without some heroic act!
