Happy to report, Shorty has been home for over 10 days. And he is doing great. He has the bounce in his step, eating well and enjoying his walks in the park. And his respiratory rate has gone down nicely.
Thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. I do believed all of that has helped, and I am forever grateful
Wonderful news! Most lately I go thru the thread postings and find those in need of prayer, and dig in. Animals always..

konata88That's great!
Was there a diagnosis / prognosis? Or idiopathic and is just doing great now?

He had congestive heart failure and now has pulmonary hypertension being treated with viagra among other things. When they did the echo of his heart, they saw a rupture chordae tendineae - the tendon that helps hold the heart valve in place. So they heart will never pump as effectively. Time will tell how long it will continue maintaining him in his current state of good health

He is also on lasix, to help keep the fluid from building up. He does take co q 10 which was suggested above. and is on a few blood pressure medicines. Some of the medicines they tried in the hospital, can lower the pressure too much - which is what happened to Shorty. Thankfully he is tolerating this regiment well at this time

I'm glad Shorty is doing well and is tolerating his meds. That's good to hear. Our Cocoa also had CHF. Best wishes, Shorty, for a long and happy life. Hang in there!
