Has anyone seen this y strap neck crack. I can’t figure out if it actually works or is a midevil torture device.

I do at home cervical traction and it was a life saver. But there's no way I'd let anyone go yanking on my head.

after already having a partially dissected carotid artery which resulted in a stroke, I’m gonna say nope to that....seems like an inversion table would be better for you.

Never had it with the Y-strap, but my chriropractor does same thing with a towel. Most of the time it's less effective on me than the standard rotational neck adjustment, but every now and then it's awesome.

It freaks me out in general when I see the chiro, I don't think I want that attached to me and yanked on.

There is a video on the Youtube from a neurosurgeon or spinal surgeon (forget which) who comments on the trend in y-strap adjustments. He said it's OK from his MD perspective. He is not a chiropractor.

I've watched a bunch of those and the spinal surgeons opinion and there's not a chance I would do that.

I believe in chiropracts although I'd rather go to an osteopath which I've never done yet.
One downside I see with that y-strap is the doctor loses feedback from his fingers. I would rather a chiropract adjust my body with his hands like rotate my neck or pull on my head or anything else. I've been strap to something that stretches my neck muscle but that was a steady weight over a period of time instead of a jerk.

A nurse once told me : “I had patients in neuro-radiology who had a torn vertebral artery as a result of neck manipulation”.
I personally went to a chiro when I was young and never had problems.

No thanks ! The space that the vertebral artery occupies is too small for that kind of foolishness....imo.. Does vertebral artery damage happen often ?? No, it's rare but I really don't want to have to deal with a stroke.
Bit of trivia: This same injury can happen to women when they get their hair washed by a hairdresser and hang their heads , back, over the sink and the hairdresser pushes on their head while washing it. Again , rare... but that would be of little comfort if it happened to me....
