Do No Harm,

I haven't seen anything here on these. I've worked rescue before on a tornado's aftermath and it was one of the top most sobering experiences I've ever had. I have never been through one, but my son called me from his grandmother's basement last year while one was tearing through their neighborhood. Talk about a helpless feeling. It destroyed several houses but jumped theirs.

Tornadoes scare the hell out of me.

23 dead in these Alabama ones. That's incredible to me. And there were several other tornadoes across the region.

Any forum members in the area?

I've always lived with hurricanes. You can predict them, to some extent, even though they can spawn tornadoes. No earthquakes or landslides around here. Few wildfires. I don't know how you guys in the tornado areas deal with it.

Thoughts and prayers...

Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.

Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard.

I live in Auburn. The damage was south of us. My wife and I got called in to the hospital for the emergency. It was bad. One of my friends lost his ten year old daughter.

Cleanup and recovery continues. The community in this county is very close. Everyone is pulling together to meet needs. The churches were onsite as fast as the first responders.
Keep those people affected in your prayers.

Probably the worst tornado in AL since the Enterprise storm of 10+ years ago.

The damage is just horrendous. Coupled with the loss of life, a very bad situation.

That storm blew past the Panhandle before midnight and I figured someone was going to get hammered in east Alabama and western Georgia.

They always get the worst of them. Frown

Mostly we get the spaghetti tornadoes and water spouts, but the air masses morph into ugliness north of us.

Had my share of bigun's in Kansas and Texas in the olden days.

I can't imagine going through something like that. Hopefully there won't be anymore bodies showing up. 23 is large number of deaths for a small area like that.

I'm thankful that we live in an area that has no tornadoes, hurricanes, flooding, tsunamis, etc. We got dumped on by volcanic ash 39 years ago and that's the worse thing that mother nature has thrown at us here.

I'm in LaGrange, GA, just across the State line.
It skipped us, but hit Pine Mountain, and Hamilton.
Looks like it crossed I-185, and then crossed it again, near Hamilton.

We were driving through that crap coming back from Mobile and Mardis Gras when the warning went out ... going up 85 from Montgomery towards auburn. Got a lot of wind and driving rain along with some hail. Our sky wasn’t yellow but you could tell it was going to be bad. Prayers to all those affected ... may God give them all peace.
