Pretty wild, it was reported he wasn't anywhere near the Bison, it just decided to go after him, chasing him around some trees. Understand he has some serious injuries as well those things can be savage.

Which one is PHPaul? The bison?

The kid in the Dolphins jersey provoked the attack, flaunting such colors. Gramps should have gone for the white SUV instead of out running the bison.

And also proves that you only have to be the second slowest human in order not to be gored/eaten by the larger, faster mammal.

Yeah...uhhhhhh...NOPE!

Mrs. Fox's little boy Pauly grew up around beef critters and hogs, and he KNOWS better than to put himself in that position.

The haircut and the suspenders are more than a bit suspicious however...

We went to Yellowstone in the winter. One rides in vans driven by guides to get to the lodge. Our guide/driver was fantastic, sharing knowledge and stories for the entire ride. One subject was bison. We were told not to look at them, they perceive that as a threat. Bison do not forget and will get the threat. Watching the video, suspender guy and the young guy were looking directly at the bison and were a bit too close. The bison was addressing the threat.

Let me help you out. Which way did you come in?

Watching Rufus the bull on Youtube, I learned the correct way to respond, don't run, keep tree between you.

I think the buffalo was at first going for the truck. When the truck cleared out, he'd take whoever was left to express his frustration.

I would like the correct the notion that he was "nowhere near the buffalo". As in fact, "I" was nowhere near that animal, and I did not see Wilford. Adjust for for Wilford's lamentable lack of mobility, Wilford was actually quite too near the animal.

Fox had a story from the wildlife photographer who filmed the charge and rendered aid. Sheds new light on it.
quote:
"Less than even a minute after I started filming, the bison charged a bunch of teenagers that were at a safe distance," the photographer said.
...
McDaniel and his grandson later came upon the bison while out for an evening walk, unaware it had already displayed aggressive behavior.

The pair briefly stopped to take photos before the bison stood up, MacLeod said.

The two moved behind a cluster of trees as a pickup truck drove by. The bison briefly turned its attention toward the vehicle before charging back toward McDaniel and his grandson.
...
The attack occurred during the bison's mating season, when bulls can become aggressive because of heightened testosterone levels,

Anyone that grew up around a mean bull would know that nowhere near the bull mean nowhere in the same pasture. Once you cross the fence you are near the bull even if he’s hundreds of yards away and not paying attention. That man while maybe minding his own business was in the same pasture! Glad he’ll recover, but those bison and moose in Yellowstone are no joke. I remember being in an econobox mid 90s Chevy cavalier rental car as a herd of buffalo surrounded the car crossing a street. We were parked and got pictures of a big bull within feet of the car. Getting out never even crossed my mind as I truly believed we were in enough danger and the car would explode into pieces if any of them decided to attack.
