In light of these heat wave issues and entering the heart of the hellish summer I think we need to resurrect that thread. I could not find it though.

well it is another year later. temps reaching triple digits. for those of us that hate the next 2 moths take solace. it is noon at mcmurdo and is -8 with a windchill of -28 Wink wished i was there Big Grin

If anyone need some heat relief you can check out the conditions at the McMurdo station. Smile

I find it hard to believe what the south pole stations says for temp and windchill. That must be a malfunction. Never heard of temps like that Eek

Let's see, the McMurdo station is -8F, and we have been seeing 112-114F the last few days. I will still take the heat over bitter cold!!

Remember that it is winter in the southern hemisphere at the moment. The summers at McMurdo are far warmer… like averaging just above freezing. Right balmy by comparison Big Grin

So it looked warm and sunny out when I left work this morning. Popped the tops on the Jeep, started driving and it didn’t feel warm and sunny. Looked at the temp reading on the dash 52 degrees.

Welcome to July in Alaska.
