What a cool story

Too bad he didn't heel him and drag him around the parking lot a few times to tenderize him. Then again, while that would have been applauded in the good old days it might be looked at a bit askance by the law these days...

Yes - today the proper thing to do is take him to the precinct, process him, then set him loose again to go steal some other person's bike.
Of all the enemies the American citizen faces, the Democrat Party is the very worst.

What I like was his motivation: "If it was my wife or my kids, I hope someone would help them like I did."
I think that's what good people do, they do what they do to help in hopes that their love ones would get similar help from strangers. And for the good people who have no one else, they just do good because it's the right thing to do.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

For some reason a lot of folks like to make fun of cowboys.
But I don't understand why. Guys like this embody all that's good and right about American maleness.

i don't understand it either. These folks have always been the best of the best in my eyes.
One night(3am) i was coming home and pulled over a DUI. guy was hammered. I looked west on the highway and saw a strange sight. Sparks! a bunch of horses were running down the highway and they appeared as if they were standing on marbles. I guess horse shoes and highway are a bit of a problem? I told the DUI to stay put(no, i didn't think he would) and I was more concerned about the accidents the ten horses might cause being on the highway. The horses stopped near me and I must have looked like an idiot trying to scare them off the highway. It was like herding cats.
A guy on his horse showed up wearing nothing but his cowboy hat and his undies. he and his horse quickly got the horses off the road and helped keep them together in a church parking lot for over an hour. We eventually located the owner and returned his animals. I was very thankful for the cowboys help. I know nothing of horses and was completely useless in this scenario. and yes, the DUI escaped.

What a great story. It's unfortunate though that so many people treat as a novelty what used to be much more common...people being "neighborly" and looking out for each other's families.
I have an aunt and uncle that live out in Eagle Point. I'll have to ask them about their local cowboys.
If you like religion, laws or sausage, then you shouldn't watch them being made.
