ltbarberCould you build your own house?
I did. With the help of FIL and one BIL. I worked third shift, worked on house all day, tried to sleep when possible. One newborn in diapers, wife working full time, 8 and a half months pregnant at the time. I did everything except nail the shingles on the roof. Two story cape cod. Without question the worst time of my life! It took just under 6 months.

Go to the inspector in the area you are wanting to build and ask him who (builder) they have the least fails with. Or, who would you use to build?
The inspector is likely to give you the name of the builder that offers the use of the nicest vacation home in FL each winter.
