My great uncle served in the Pacific theater during WWII. I have several Japanese Military items from him.

My father served during the late Korea early Vietnam era as an Army officer.

I served eight years in the US Army. Last with the 10th SFG(A).

My son is currently an Army Lieutenant going through BOLC at Ft Benning. Jump School and Ranger School are next for him.

Although I was not in the military my brother and dad both were. However for purposes of this karma I want to give a shout out to my Uncle Red. Red was one of four brothers serving in the Navy during WWII in the Pacific.

Red was a Hell Diver pilot on USS Enterprise and on OCT. 24 1944 his squadron attacked the Japanese Centerforce in the Philipean sea. His squadron attacked the IJN flagship battleship Musashi. Ya Uncle Red, one of the guys that dropped a damn bomb on the baddest battleship ever built putting it on the bottom of the ocean!

In for my uncle, a Vietnam veteran. He proudly served in the Navy for 11 years and completed two tours in the war. His primary ship was the USS Orleck, now decommissioned. As per Wikipedia,
the Orleck served as plane guard for aircraft carriers on "Yankee Station" in the Gulf of Tonkin, participated in "Operation Sea Dragon", patrolled on search and rescue duties, and carried out naval gunfire support missions during the Vietnam War. He has great stories and is a proud naval veteran. I would give him this at Christmas time. Ironically, he has been wanting a 9mm semi-auto as of late and P228 would fit his naval affiliation perfectly.

Thanks for the opportunity.

Enter me in this awesome KARMA, please.

US Army 2008-present.

Story: Wasn't my company but a company of a friend. At OCS for their 12 mile road march, it was storming. The company pressed on. Lightning struck in front of them, then it struck behind them but closer. Someone yells out, "it's bracketing us!" The company throws down their weapons and runs into the wood line. Big Grin

My dad is a Marine - he was active duty in the late '50s. My father in law was career Army/Air Force from 1941 until the early '60s.

Among others, my cousin was in the Navy in nuclear subs. His joke was that he crossed the Atlantic dozens of times and never saw it.

Thanks for the chance.

Thank you again for your generous Karmas and help to others-

Grandfather, father, uncles, cousins, all served. (Generally Navy and Army). I served in Navy- fast attack submarines.

Here's my dad and his older brother in Korea. Dad ended up in Gator Navy and brother in Military Police. It would be great if they were still with us...
