After 3 years of horrific knee pain, I finally found a orthopedic surgeon who found my problem and gave me a partial knee replacement. It's been less than a month but my therapist said I am ahead of the game. Still a little sore but the bone on bone pain is gone. I am so happy I will be able to walk pain free again.

My son did his first solo today at San Luis Obispo. He was rocking a Bellanca Super Decathlon (a taildragger). The first time around went smoothly and all was great. Then when he was downwind someone declared an emergency due to an alternator problem and returned to the airport. Following that rodeo, things got crazy busy in the pattern with a mix of Embraers, RJs, CitationJets, an Air Force King Air 200, and a Pilatus, and even an older model Cessna 425. At the end of it all, it took an hour to do three takeoffs and three full-stop landings. He handled it well though, had a good time, and logged one of the ten hours of solo he needs.
Now I just have to work on his sister. She says she doesn’t want to learn to fly, she just wants to do aerobatics. On the other hand, maybe I should leave her alone though. She already rides horses with Mrs. slosig and maybe one expensive hobby is enough...
