Not a good look when a safe harbor (CBS) host is literally laughing in your face at your ineptness:

PASigElon would have built a million of them by this point, but since the Biden regime hates him, this incompetent boob whose only qualification is that he has sex with men, is in charge of this mess.

BytesDidn't Biden originally designate Harris as the Border Czar and Buttigieg as the Transportation Czar? I can't really remember because I never took Biden or his flunkies seriously.

Russ59Our company manages an EV charger program somewhere in the west coast. These charging stations should be fairly easy to install, but there could be obstacles, particularly when qualifying or benefiting from federal dollars. Local permitting, lease or space purchase, finding qualified electricians/contractors, utility infrastructure (kW capacity or how easy to upgrade in desired location), EV suppliers and materials.
I'm not surprised so few are installed under this program. The many EV charging stations that I see locally are Tesla stuff and they seem to pop up frequently. As for this federal boondoggle, who knows?

HRKAll local permitting, infrastructure, materials aside, for $7.5 BILLION there ought to be more than 7-8 stations. I could see 700 to 800 units with overcoming those issues, but not 7-8, it's likely the DC bureaucracy slowing it down, assigning massive staff and creating a full department of people to oversee it that costs the most and drags it down.

egregoreThis entire dam, from the beginning to the first generator going online, took ~14 months to build, in the middle of World War II, no less.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...und_and_construction OK, things were different then, but at least a few hundred charging stations could have been built by now, not a mere eight.

shovelheadWell since Petey has moved to Traverse City, probably has nothing to do with his being Transportation Secretary, pure coincidence, our state is now studying a direct rail link between Ann Arbor and T.C.
For entertainment look this up, also look up the commuter rail WALLY to see how much fed and state money is getting pissed away on this pipe dream.
The now dead WALLY was to be run over the same rails as this excursion train is proposed to run.
And the first thirty miles or so of the trackage from Ann Arbor to Howell will take millions of dollars to upgrade alone. They want 60 mph speed but that first link is just a pipe dream,GLC Railroad runs it at a walk speed presently.
Latest I read is that the state expects the train to be able to traverse this distance in four hours. I’m doubting this especially as drive time for AA to TC is four hours give or take a few minutes depending to the route taken.

Not surprisingly, the bureaucrat didn't address the issue head on. He didn't mention # of units installed compared to goal, # of units to be installed this year, when or how funds are to be dispersed, etc.
Or it could be an absolute fustercluck with just 7 or 8 installed at a billion a pop.

monoblok7 or 8 stations, eh? Lots of tax money with almost nothing to show for it. Sounds like the Feds must've pinched the very same folks that ran the California high speed rail project to run this cluster as well.

AITGLighten up on poor mayor Pete. Like every single one of Bidens' cabinet picks, he was carefully selected precisely due to his level of incompetence on the subject he "Leads".
