Not a play per se, but at Yankee stadium after 911, President George W. Bush throwing out the first pitch. In the same series, they had the bald eagle fly across the field to its handler - that was pretty incredible and touching.

Also, when the Twins won the World Series in ‘87 & ‘91 - they had a great group of guys on that team, the theme from “the Natural” was played - it was a pretty exciting time.

The Kirk Gibson home run was pretty incredible.

Clemens v Stewart pitchers dual. I didn’t appreciate it while sitting in the stands at the time. Thought it was boring

Ozzie's '85 Walk-Off
Ozzie Smith walks-off the Dodgers in game five of the 1985 NLCS.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I watched curt
Pound that out ,
In person.

I took my room mate to the game,
Five innings in he wanted to leave,
Bottom of the 7th I told him to leave w/o me ,
I'd find a way home.

I knew I'd never see another world series game.

We stayed till the end,
I doubt that to this day either of us have seen a more exiting sports event

This to me was it. I watched this live sitting in a dive bar, completely spell-bound by the drama. Many of the others in the bar were in the same boat, just mesmerized. Before that moment, I was not a Gibson or Dodgers fan in the slightest, but it seemed that it portrayed all that was magical and good about the game.

Same here. I was watching it here in Chicago at a buddy's apartment. As Chicagoans, we weren't Dodgers fans. But, it was an electrifying at bat and I knew we'd just witnessed an iconic moment.

Not as well known, but I saw this game (on tv) and thought it qualifies as an iconic moment.
