A resident of the tiny rural town I live in has been arrested in a sizeable drug bust along with another from a nearby town.

I should cut that article out and laminate it so I can just hand it to folks that wonder why I carry.

Ha! I'm in a rural area. We used to joke that we live in West Meth.

Locally the state director (person in charge) (top dog) of the State licesencing agency for Private Investigators in Louisiana was involved (as a passenger) in a police chase after the driver (wanted fugitive) was spotted and proceded to flee police. after being involved in a traffic accident with other vehicles the driver was taken into custody and charged felon in possession of firearms / drug possession / wanted felon / traffic violations to start. The female passenger also charged with the weapons and drug charges and this morning the governing body of her work agency has voted her out.. Let us see her get out of this one. ...................... drill sgt.

Voted her ass out huh? Finally accountability somewhere in the government!

This drug business is bad (hate to sound like The Godfather) maybe worth the death penalty.

Fake prescription pills are being produced that contain fentanyl. Young people think they are taking a Xanax or whatever to catch a buzz and they never wake up.

There was a bust of fentanyl at the Arizona border a week or so ago that was enough fentanyl to kill 42,000,000 people. Yes, 42 million people. If I remember correctly, it was 187 pounds of that shit.

There is so much of that busted in I-17 north of Phoenix, south of the Verde Valley, it would make your head spin. It’s a weekly occurrence for them to stop cars with 50k+ pills.

None I have heard of are even close to the Border bust though. https://www.fox10phoenix.com/n...st-massive-drug-bust

Same here.
It wasn't a huge bust but it's everywhere.
I do not live in the city but my business is located there and I carry everyday because of what it's like.

I recently watched a show on the drug business on one of the cable documentary channels. They went over the rise of the Fentanyl trade. The cartel that started dealing Fentanyl was in competition with the other large cartels, and they had locked up distribution in a lot of the big cities. So this cartel decided to build distribution in rural areas. This is how KY, WV, and parts of OH got saturated with Fentanyl. Maine probably fit in quite well with their marketing strategy. So having since this Paul's report makes perfect sense.

The crap is everywhere. I work in what is about the closest thing to Mayberry that you can get, and it's an uncommon day that we don't have at least one OD in our county. When there's a bad batch going around, it can often be five or six.

It's starting to require a lot more Naloxone to bring them back, too...and that's when we get there in time. The dopers are even starting to carry it themselves. They know what they're doing will kill them but the idiots keep doing it anyway.

California middle school student arrested for bringing fentanyl to school, causing employee to overdose.

A 13-year-old California middle school student was arrested after bringing fentanyl to school that caused a school supervisor to suffer an overdose.

The Bakersfield Police Department responded to Chipman Junior High School Friday after the school reported that a student was in possession of about 150 fentanyl pills disguised as Percocet, according to KGET.

The pills were discovered after a search was conducted on the student in an unrelated altercation with another student, leading to a school supervisor to discover the pills and inadvertently overdose, according to BPD. Police say the supervisor did not ingest the pills, but opened the pill bottle to check it and was exposed due to them being an "inhalation hazard."

A Kern High School police officer administered Narcan to the supervisor, who was then transferred to a local hospital for treatment and was listed in stable condition.

Police say the student in possession of the fentanyl pills disguised as Percocet also had about $300 on his person, though they could not immediately say if any of the pills were sold or given to another student. The investigation was still ongoing.

The 13-year-old student was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sales and was taken to a juvenile hall after the arrest.

Ummmmm...how does one "inadvertently overdose" with the drug in pill form?

We've see people overdose from inhaling the "dust" from pills along with just touching them. He might have dumped them in his hand to look at them. When I make contact with anybody with pills these days I always assume they have fentanyl and glove and mask up. There are instances where Narcotics K9's have OD'd from sniffing them.

One batch might have X mg of fentanyl, another batch may have Y mg. They are made in makeshift Mexican labs.

Read the Wall Street Journal report I posted above.

This is how much is in a fatal dose. Not much room for error.
