I recently purchased a garmin fenix 7x pro solar watch.

Give me some motivation and accountability to kick start my weight loss journey.

I just played a round of disc golf at a short course and walked 1.3 miles over the course of 40 min.

According to my watch it said I burned over 400 calories and I know there is no way that is possible.

Does anybody know how to help make sure this thing is accurate? I understand it won't be perfect but that is a little crazy off.

Thanks,

JD

Did you set all your stats in the Garmin Connect app? It uses the info there to estimate calorie burn.

My Fenix 6 Pro Solar (and my Instinct Solar before that) have been pretty good estimations based on activity.

Success always occurs in private, and failure in full view.

Complacency sucks…

Did you specify track the golf session? you're HR didn't probably get to Zone 2. What was your perceived exertion? Also, are you thinking it's off high or low?

My height and weight are accurate in the garmin connect app.

I did specify it to track the round and it said I burned 438 calories walking 1.3 miles in about 40 minutes. There is no way that is accurate. It has to be close to 4 times the actual calories burned

I’d give it a week or two to learn your normal HR and such. Once it has a good baseline I’d bet it will normalize.

So what do think think the correct number is?

He said earlier he suspected it should have been four times that.
