Work is sending me to Sumter, SC-area for our next move. Thoughts? Places to shoot (recreationally)? Pistol/AR or distance.

Parts to avoid? We are looking in an area south of Sumter near the Wildlife Management Area to live.

What about emergency medical services? I have a teenage boy who plays sports...a lot.

Anything I need to know but haven't asked?

Looking forward to be within a reasonable drive of Palmetto State Armory (I'm aware of the varying good/bad opinions of PSA).

This move puts us closer to family in NC and VA, so there is an upside to moving from NW FL. I will miss the beach (even though I've been gone 12 of 24 months we've been in FL)

I bought a pistol from an attorney there in one of the Walgreen's parking lots.

It seems like a decent town, close to Columbia as you say. Seems bigger than I thought it would be.
