Samsung is abandoning their own texting app on 'older' phones like our S21's. They have a major nag screen effort underway to get every one on Google Messages. I have a firm, get rid of everything Google policy, so that is a no go.

I despise Google.

Non google recommendations seem to be companies that have bad associations or incidents in the past, like WhatsApp and Telegram. We were on Signal for a few years till they dropped SMS. We didn't want two texting apps to we went back to the included Samsung messaging app.

So what do ya'll like beside google messages and why do you prefer it over others.

I switched to Textra a few years ago.im happy with it. Love the option to schedule a message for later delivery!

Google bought Android in 2005.

Any phone using Android is a Google phone OS.

Not many other choices.
