AglifterOK, some of these really have me confused…. Outside of physics, finance and negotiations, how is leverage used?
Likewise, other than well…. Debunking…. How are they using the word?

I'm used to military command names "ComCincNavPacTuPacNWO," "SITREPS," "VertReps," "UnReps," etc. I can't imagine an environment where AmCit is said instead of Americans.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." egregoreDoes this count? Conversation or chat as a euphemism for an ass chewing?

konata88Not sure if this is in the spirit of the thread. But one that that really gets me is the acronyms typical of text messaging and such. But not just that, but when you're there in person and they say it out loud.
Example, you're physically with a person and something happens and they say "lol" either while laughing or instead of laughing. Or they'll stand up from sitting and say "brb" or whatever is the appropriate abbreviation. "omg" is another common one.

HRKusing Meh in a post/conversation/reply, it means you don't really care about the topic, have zero interest, however, drop a Meh and then proceed to tell us all why what we are talking about isn't important to begin with...
Then again, Meh, Seems pretty much self aggrandizement....

BurtonRWCan anyone tell me when a request became an "ask"?
As in, "That's not a big ask."
And is there a corporate-speak corollary for abuse of the word "bid"?

feersum dreadnaughtmy response to all your buzzwords and corpoperatorspeak is simply "no worries" - the all purpose response that has take the place of "you are welcome"
I wasn't worried, I asked you for a clean fork in your restaurant, and politely thanked you for doing your job...

I don’t know if it came from there, but “bio break” is heavily used in online gaming communities for games that requires the player to sit in long sessions where getting up and leaving for a few minutes could possibly ruin the run and the time invested by multiple players. Particularly MMORPG’s (massively multiplayer online role playing games). For example, you may be in a particular run where you have to sit for a half hour or more specifically to gather the amount and type of resources you need to build whatever item - you’re “farming” resources. “Bio breaks” are used to prevent “shit-socking,” a phenomenon that developed, as I understand it, in the Korean MMO community, and it’s exactly what you think it is.
