Complete success? He didn't even come close to clearing the buses. Thumbs down.

^^^ Kind of a spoiler, but I agree. And why didn't they get the car to 100MPH? Though I don't think it would have been enough.

That was dumb... and now a word from our sponsor.

Thinking that building a better (any?) air intake system for the individual jet engines would be a good start.

Having the transmission shift into neutral at higher speeds would reduce mechanical drag? Started the jet engines too late?

Guess I have a different idea of a 'complete sucksess'.

Sounds like a v6 firebird, could have done that with a 150 or 200 shot of NOS an made the MPH up.

Yeah, they should have aborted the attempt if the car was not up to speed at a certain point. Instead, they smashed the car well short of the ramp.

At least Evel Knievel made this jump over 14 buses.

And they are for RC planes and don't produce anywhere near the thrust to have much effect on a 3000 lb car.

He makes his jet engines and puts them on stuff from a Tesla to a scooter.
The see through one he built is pretty cool.

Pretty sure that was just a test run to see if it would work as there is another car that will be in the next one.

The bus that the car hit had X's on it, not sure if that was intentional.

I was at Kings Island that day and saw Evil jump the buses. I was 15 years old, still remember it very well.

Should have had an LS-1 under the hood, then it would have hit the ramp at 100 mph. I'll also note that they should have done some acceleration trials before doing any setup, that would have revealed they are under powered and avoided wasting 2-3 buses and 1 car.

I've stopped counting.
