Pretty good body painting.

As for stepping up the tattoo game, I think this does it for the mechanics.

That's a lot of talent... and time.

Interesting to see how she applied in layers and blotted out each detail. I wonder what's the science behind that.

JHE, you're a very intelligent fellow, and I believe you're an attorney, right? So, do you have visible tattoos when you try a case in court? Just curious.

I found what you said riveting.

No, but I am too old to want tattoos. I have seen a fair number of visibly tattooed attorneys.

But the real point is that if you are in some position where tattoos won't be good for your interests, then don't get them. If that is not your station in life, why not?

I've dabbled in miniature painting and the yt instructional vids do base primer coats colored according to the brightness of the final model. It helps w/ blending and shading and it looks like her "blotting" is providing some darker base shading which she will then layer w/ highlights. The blotting/shading is also removing the contours of her neck which are supposed to be removed w/ the head.
Repeating this bit by bit helps w/ a more realistic appearance and depth w/ variants of shade and highlights.

In other words, one base shade layer and highlighting will be two dimensional while several subtle blending layers provide depth. I know this isn't mini painting but I'm seeing many similarities.
That's about the best I can explain it.
