HRKMan kicked off flight for Terroristic Social Media Post
Social Media, outing dumbasses to the public. Or How to get yourself arrested and provide evidence of your stupidity.
Link to dumbass An Indian man was kicked off of a Jet Airways plane after another passenger saw a disturbing message he was about to post on Snapchat. Yogvedant Poddar was in his seat prior to take-off when he pulled a handkerchief over his face and typed "Terrorist on flight, I destroy women’s hearts" in a message meant for his friends.
A passenger sitting behind Poddar saw the message and alerted a member of the flight crew, who told the pilot. After speaking with an air traffic controller, the pilot decided to abort take-off and returned to the gate.
Authorities removed the 24-year-old from the flight and detained him for questioning. Poddar told them the message was just a joke and that he was not a terrorist. They removed his luggage from the plane but found nothing suspicious during a search of his belongings.
After being questioned for hours, Poddar was handed over to the police, who arrested him. They have not said what charges Poddar will face.
The flight was delayed for about an hour while security officials re-screened the luggage of everybody on board.

DoctorSoloThis is nonsense. No critical thinking, fuck context, fuck nuance, fuck humor.
I think this is thought policing and it's anti-American and pure bullshit. Sue the airline dude. Just do it.

sigfreundGetting pulled off a flight because of “jokes” about terrorism is hardly new. I remember its being discussed and even seeing signs about the subject over 20 years ago.
And if such talk was never followed by action, that would be one thing, but the opposite is in fact true: It’s part of the ritual to make a final statement to comfort one’s family and encourage others, then bang, bang or boom. Think any dam’ thing you want, but keep your thoughts to yourself and this sort of thing won’t happen.

HRKStill, he chose poorly, he got what he deserved.... You don't do that stuff on a plane, regardless of intent,
Security forces across India were on high alert because Monday marked the tenth anniversary of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, which left 165 people dead.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I agree, but it was still stupid, given that this is the very predictable reaction.

Bobs and Vagene are misspellings of the words "boobs" and "vagina" which are associated with sexually explicit chat messages written in broken English commonly featured on the subreddit /r/IndianPeopleFacebook

Ryanp225Make a joke about being a lady killer and you get kicked off of a plane and arrested.
Since what he said didn't have squat to do about any kind of actual violence let alone terrorism I'd hope he owns this airline after this is over.

08 CayenneNot so long ago I was in murderapolis waiting for an overseas flight, we had already boarded. A passenger behind me made a threat to a flight attendant, I never did hear what was actually said. Four very large Minnesota state patrolman boarded, beat the crap out of the guy and literally drug him off the plane. It was truly brutal.

You understand that this had nothing to do with "America," and was in INDIA on JET AIRWAYS, right?
This occurred in Kolkata, and the "thought police" were the Central Industrial Security Force...also not "American."
How is it "anti-american?"

One does not need to be in America for something to be "anti-American." You do understand
that, right?

He didn't say steal, he said "destroy."
If I see some dude holding some shit over his face posting selfies on social media and I see the keywords "terrorist on flight" and "destroy," it's going to get my fucking attention, and I'm not going to sit there and just give him the benefit of the doubt. If you saw those words and couldn't clearly just sit there and examine the screen to laugh off his stupid braggadocio context, would you just assume he was being an arrogant young stud? Nah. He doesn't need to own any airline, he needs to stop acting like a fucking idiot. We all know what he was trying to imply, so why the hand-wringing?

Really? This deserves pretty close to the same response as the airline got from DoctorSolo.

It might surprise some here to discover that much of the rest of the world doesn't measure the validity of their actions based upon whether or not it is "anti-american." You know... like when they're doing things the way they see fit. Also, I seriously doubt that dude will own any part of that airline precisely because it didn't occur in America.
