Heck, yeah! Lots of grunt, and only about 1mpg fuel penalty over the V6 (based on data from a friend who has both).

A local contractor offered us $25k a couple weeks back as he wanted the engine. That's plum crazy. But we without hesitation said NO. Big Grin

Someone in my area did.
Spotted this one at Costco when topping up my generator gas cans post-Beryl

It's much larger than I was expecting, bigger than a Defender or G-Wagen [which I'd put as it's main competition, on price]for sure.

No manual transmission available which means that's a giant NOPE from me.

Ridiculous a vehicle like this can't be had the way God intended.

Suburban soccer moms won't need a manual transmission. But that locking center differential will be very useful when mom needs to get out of a wet soccer field. Wink

That's pricy, but nowhere NEAR a G-Wagen. Let alone a G63 4X4^2.

Which, BTW are on a sales stop for some minor part rated to gas cap or such I think. Local dealer has one sitting on the floor that they have someone offer on each week but can't sell. $367K.

I actually like the blue. The one thing they missed was not having the ability to disconnect the front sway bar at low speeds.

Wow, I didn't realize G-Wagens started at $150k now Eek
Grenadier is 76-87k base
Defender starts at 61k for the 110 or 70k for the 130

There is a dealer here in Ft Lauderdale and I keep meaning to go in and test drive it. I have seen a few on the road here in Broward and several in the Boca Raton area. I do love the way they look.

Yah, the G Wagen’s price is nuts unless you’re really into them. If you’re still in the Spring area, you should head over to Mossy Ineos and take a test drive. Anything right now that is available to buy and drive off the lot are abandoned preorders. So these usually have some, not weird, but different configurations.

I ordered a base wagon and added every option I wanted. The 2 packages had stuff that was not my style. Every car company should let you buy a basically bespoke outfitted version. I went with Britannia (navy) blue.

Katy's a haul, but will have to check them out if I'm ever out that way.

I miss the days of a la carte ordering. Mini might be one of the few that comes close.

I'd love a G-Wagen, and really considered it briefly.
Maybe one day when the kids are more grown, have read they're really not as spacious as they seem in the back seat.

I saw one a couple of months ago and thought I might replace my Jeep with one. Did a lot of YouTube and reading decided it's not really for me. Part of the problem is a dealer closer than 200+ miles, I just don't trust it to be without glitches. Last I looked the dealer in Utah had good inventory.
