The crack runs from the corner of my basement window well, down to the floor. It is maybe 3mm thick at its widest. When we get heavy rains, I get water in the basement. Side note, the guy who installed my patio didn't grade it all out properly, and my pavers are sitting on a cement slab, so I cant do much on the outside to re-direct the water. I've already dug the window well down away from the foundation with a post hold digger, and graded that away from the house, also added rocks. I was wondering if anyone has used this product with any success? I'm open for suggestions as well. Thanks as always...

I've used that, it works. Dig as much form the outside as possible. The more area under the window the better. Definitely beyond the bottom of the crack. Dig any loose impediments from the crack and widen some of the narrow parts if you don't think the epoxy will spread in. Use an air compressor if possible to blow out the crack well. Some will brush in a cleaner but I did not. Reasonably easy to use. Once cured, use tar paper or synthetic membrane glued over the foundation including the crack. Again, the more coverage the better. I then add another layer of thin foam just to keep from damaging the membrane. Backfill. Better to dig a drain around the foundation if you have bad water problems.

Cruiser, I can only work the crack from inside the basement. My paver patio butts right up to the foundation of the house, and its on a slab, so there is no attacking the problem from the outside. Thanks for the other advice though, glad to hear you had some success.

We had a company come in and fix a crack in our basement wall that started leaking after we had several days of constant heavy rain. They used a material much like the one in your picture. That was a couple of years ago and we have not had any further problems with the crack. Helitech was the name of the contractor.

That is a decent epoxy injection option. Where in NY are you? I’d be more than willing to come and take a look and offer my professional opinion. We have used a similar, proprietary, system at work to fix similar issues in larger structures. Email is in my profile.

Sorry about that. In that case I would suggest widening the crack as much as you can up to 1/4 inch or more so you get full penetration. If the epoxy completely fills the crack it should last. The problem is if any water gets into the crack from the outside and freezes it will start the crack again. I had a house with a similar crack I could only fix from the inside. I had to do it three times in 12 years living in New England.
