Sometimes I watch wingsuit videos.
But I mute the sound and synchronize the video with music from another video. In this case the music is Thunderstruck (AC/DC). Let's see if this works.

The music video is a bit longer so I start it first then toggle to the muted wingsuit video and go full screen. Volume waaaaaay to far up. Big Grin

Edit: Won't let me go full screen embedded so here are the links.

Copy/paste When they are synched and full screen volume up it's pretty cool.

I wonder how one gets into that? I mean, how do you practice that as a novice? A "little" jump could still kill you.

It's one of those things that will eventually kill you anyway.

Start by skydiving. These guys still use parachutes assuming they don't hit something on the ground first.

At a minimum, a good wingsuit will at least get you to the scene of the crash.

Drugs. It's the only thing that makes sense. In my case I'd overdose long before ever jumping off of those mountains.

Other music I've synched to is PF Learning To Fly, Sail by Awolnation and Pump up the Volume (Marrs)(don't judge me!Big Grin)

I do wonder if a skilled flying squirrel could land sans parachute if he pulled up dramatically enough at just the right altitude....which one of you whippersnappers wants to try it? lolol

Most wing suit companies will not sell you a beginner suit until you have 200-250 verfied free fall jumps. Then a school cert. Then you get a beginner base jumper suit. The guys doing proximity flying have hundreds of flights before they do anything close to that.

You start out wing suiting from aircraft at higher altitudes. Then mix in some base jumping for fun and then eventually mix the wing and the base jump.

Here is a link about some of the training for the sky diving portion.

According to Wikipedia ...

Nope.

TL;DR: The first guy tested his invention off the Eiffel Tower. Splatted headfirst. The modern incarnation was reintroduced in the late 90s by a guy who splatted the next year due to an improperly packed parachute.

I hate offended people. They come in two flavours - huffy and whiny - and it's hard to know which is worst. The huffy ones are self-important, narcissistic authoritarians in love with the sound of their own booming disapproval, while the whiny, sparrowlike ones are so annoying and sickly and ill-equipped for life on Earth you just want to smack them round the head until they stop crying and grow up.
