I know there are a number of members here who live in Atlanta, and I just moved here myself. Could someone give me a heads up on things like local ranges (indoor for pistol, outdoor for distance), online forums (classifieds), etc? I’d appreciate it!

I go to WMA ranges for long range and rifle. There's at least 4 indoor ranges in Marietta and 2 I know of in Canton. He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.

If you live on the north side of town, you should become a member of River Bend Gun Club. They have excellent ranges. _________________________ 2nd Amendment Defender The Second Amendment is not about hunting or sport shooting.

Yes, the Atlanta area covers a lot of area. Great area to live and the state gun laws are generally friendly. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

Ranges all over the place in metro Atl, even a few in town. I usually use wmas for rifles. And yes, there's a very good local classifieds. I'm gonna vote for the funniest frog with the loudest croak on the highest log.

From the amount of shootings they have in Atlanta, I assumed you could shoot anywhere in the streets.

^^^^ You joke ,I live on south side of atlanta. Gunfire goes on all the time and they aren't going to no ranges. I hate to see holidays come, most of that noise is not fireworks.

I'm a member @ Pickens County Outdoorsman Club. I don't think the wait is as long as River Bend. https://pcsc.us/ Train how you intend to Fight Remember - Training is not sparring. Sparring is not fighting. Fighting is not combat.
North eastern half of the city. In the perimeter.
You're what we call ITP. That's the area I lived in when I moved here about 50 years ago. Not far from Peachtree-Dekalb airport and a different world then. A few miles north, outside the perimeter, was mostly rural. Next, about ten years later, I moved to Peachtree Corners/Norcross when it was just starting to develop but still very rural. When I left there in 2000, it was in the early suburbia stage and now it's unrecognizable to me. Now I'm at the north end of Highway 400, about an hour away and suburbia is starting to get close, even here. Still, a different world to where you are now. You are likely limited to some indoor ranges if you want somewhere close to shoot. When you get out more in the countryside, the options for outdoor areas are much better. There are some nicer outdoor private ranges but I think you need to be a member or guest of a member to go there. Post your specific interests here, handgun, self defense, longer range, etc. and I'm sure some of the others can help. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

I don't know of any places real close to you anymore A short drive north to Gwinnett county will get you to my favorite place, Bullseye in Lawrenceville. Great selection. pricing cheaper than most. They do not negotiate. Their indoor range is pretty nice, recently rebuilt after a fire. A little further north is the Georgia Gun Club, very nice place with a 100 yard indoor range
