And in a coming day, tac, you may be the one lifting her out of that chair for a much better life in the next world.

Bless you for that, Bro.

Amazing pic. Immediately reminds me of this:

Revelation 21:1-6
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away....I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

I fully believe that day will come.

That's a great painting for so many reasons.

Makes one ask themselves how they will react when they meet God. Will they be shy like a child when a stranger says hello, or will they joyfully hug someone they've loved and trusted their whole life?

If I'm lucky enough to even make it to Heaven, it'll be a big ol' man-hug accompanied by a lot of tears of joy and relief that FINALLY, Satan is defeated and there will be eternal peace.

Then I'll be handed a shovel because I know I'm not even worthy to shovel dung in the gold-paved streets (metaphorically speaking, of course).

p.s. That IS a great painting on so many levels...

"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

Thank, people, for the pics. Love 'em!
I have The Great Physician pic hanging in my office...
Matthew 5:3-10
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Funny how I posted in this thread almost one year ago this month. I had an amazing experience this weekend and the first thing I thought of when I saw my picture was that painting.

Here is me meeting my mom for the first time in my life.

Great picture. Reminds of me of my favorite passage in my favorite book - "The Pilgrim's Progress"

quote:

PRUDENCE. And what is it that makes you so desirous to
go to Mount Zion?

CHRISTIAN. Why, there I hope to see Him alive that did
hang dead on the cross; and there I hope to be rid of all
those things that to this day are in me an annoyance to me;
there, they say, there is no death; and there I shall dwell with
such company as I like best. For, to tell you truth, I love
Him, because I was by Him eased of my burden; and I am
weary of my inward sickness. I would fain be where I shall
die no more, and with the company that shall continually
cry, “Holy, holy, holy.”

Can you just imagine hugging Jesus like that?

Interesting to me that you wrote this. As I age, statistically death approaches. For most of my life I have feared the moment of death. In recent years I have devoted myself to spiritual development and understanding. This has resulted in a stronger faith and true hope. The consequence has been a dramatically reduced fear of death. It has produced in my heart a hope for what awaits. Now I share your expressed perspective. I don't look forward to the means of my death but I do anticipate my relief of the mortal condition having endured it well and in service to God where I could.
