Gun laws are stupid, and this ruling will be struck down.

LS1 GTOI am still looking for the literature or online info where Bushmaster claimed the weapons were good for shooting people - innocent or otherwise.

BBMWSince there is a federal statue shielding gun makers from civil suits, I would expect this to be appealed into the federal system.

rscalzoThey know they can't win but simply hope to cause a financial drain. The past case involving Bushmaster was settled with a financial payment.

That actually happens all the time and has for years.
I'm sure this will be appealed.

grumpy1If it ever gets to trial you only need to convince a jury that may very well be sympathetic and anti gun. No way in hell an impartial jury could be selected.

Perhaps a while back. Now,the 4 northern counties seem to be filled with refugees from MD. Who came here because they got tired of the BS in MD. Then promptly started re-creating what they had run away from.

I'd use the Governments own arguments.
"On March 30, 1939, the Supreme Court heard the case. Attorneys for the United States argued four points:
The NFA is intended as a revenue-collecting measure and therefore within the authority of the Department of the Treasury.
The defendants transported the shotgun from Oklahoma to Arkansas, and therefore used it in interstate commerce.
The Second Amendment protects only the ownership of military-type weapons appropriate for use in an organized militia. The "double barrel 12-gauge Stevens shotgun having a barrel less than 18 inches in length, bearing identification number 76230" was never used in any militia organization."

Of course the exact opposite also works. How many AR15's are currently issued to US military units worldwide?
That's just how retarded this judge's decision is. Nothing, and I mean nothing he noted as justification for his decision is accurate/true. This asinine ruling will most assuredly be overturned when it comes before a
real judge.

Maybe they should sure the video game companies of the video games he played next....

I bet if said locale declared itself a "sanctuary city" there would be some liability attached.

Maybe they will wise up and fight instead of just rolling over.
Many years ago IBM was getting the crap sued out of them for all kinds of trivial BS, none of which had to do with the company. Why? because every time they came up with a fat settlement instead of fighting it.
This continued until the corporate legal department got their collective asses handed to them and IBM decided to fight. Part of that fight was to claim reimbursement for IBM's legal costs for fighting the suit! As I recall, it took ONE CASE going to court and that shit stopped.
