Long story short. Ordered a holster several weeks ago and saw that it was sitting at a shipping location since 12/7. I chatted with them just now and they confirmed this. With no questions asked, they shipped another one with expedited shipping at no cost. Now that is customer service.

Because son, it is what you are supposed to do.

Thanks for the positive post.

I have only purchased from them a couple of times, but both transactions were very good.

Larry Potterfield seems like a guy I’d want to be gun buddies with.

With very few exceptions most gun centric companies I’ve dealt with have always been awesome. Palmetto, midway, Brownell, and of course our own Greg Cote as a small sample. I think like any industry that caters to hobbyists spending purely discretionary money (guns, off roading, fishing for example) the owners and employees of the companies also seem to be into the hobby as well and not like the kid at Walmart or other big box store doesn’t give a damn

I just assume you're talking about Midway, not the clowns at the Poast office. AKA the mail storage service.

I am a frequent flyer with Midway. My one complaint with them is they will often say something is up for free shipping.
Then they use SmartPost to ship it. It may not cost you anything but you wont see the item for quite a while.
Hey, Midway? Dump SmartPost!

15+ years here, great service.

About the Smart Post, I think that's what you get for the cheapest shipping rate. I think (again) we always have the option to pay a few dollars more for all UPS or USPS.

First time I ordered ammo from them(2006), the 1st box in a shipment of 5 boxes (.25-06 Federal) was short 2 rounds.
Called Customer Service, they apologized, said they would take care of it. Next morning a package arrived with an entire new order. Called Customer Service to thank them and asked for a return; was told they did not want order returned, no charge for the replacement shipment.
They are a great firm, and I buy from them to this day.

I have found lots of positives with Midway but one negative currently keeps me from shopping there. That is their insistence on using Fedex. IMO any business that doesn't offer UPS as a shipping option is not a supplier that I will use currently. With Fedex the distribution center in Oak Park, Michigan is horrible and stuff can sit at that location for 6 weeks or more. As for USPS, their tracking is not existent.

I've stopped counting.

MidwayUSA is a great company and their videos on YouTube are some of the most informative you will find.

But I hate the UPS-to-USPS shipping, and if you are ordering something inexpensive, it can be cost-prohibitive to choose upgraded shipping. So on those things, I wait. But I keep forgetting. So it ordered something on 12/7 and I checked their site last night and saw "Out for delivery by 9pm." Yay, great. I'll turn on the porchlight. Then I realized, it's out for delivery to the post office that will now bring it the rest of the way.

Siggghhhhhh.

I've used Midway a lot in the past 15 years. I prefer them because of the reliable shipping on their side, easy returns, and generally top shelf internet retailer experience. I don't fault them for using low cost shipping methods, but yeah Smart Post sucks. I'd rather they send it First Class or Priority.

Due to the shortages and getting into AR building since the beginning of this year, I've branched out. Primary Arms, Wing Tactical, Osage County Guns (for Sig stuff), Granite Ridge Outfitters, and various others that I previously would not have considered, along with various manufacturers. Some of these are now my go-to sites for some things.

I placed my first order with PSA for a red dot during their Black Friday sale and it took forever to actually ship, once it shipped it got here fast.

I will say I am amused at the labeling of anything with a lithium battery, including 2032 coin cells. Last I checked 2032's do not spontaneously combust. BUT, such items have to go through better tracked shipping systems - so stacking other things you need on top of an order with a lithium battery - any red dot sight or flashlight will do, or just a pack of CR123's - gets things shipped much more reliably.

At Nordstrom they instilled in us that every encounter with a customer is an opportunity ,

It sounds like the handling of your concern made a good impression.
They did well.

Both them and Brownell's are in the Midwest,
I wonder if the people in the heartland have anything to do with the customer service quality?

I've ordered way too many things from Midway to never have any issues. The important thing is that they have always made things right. Usually they are super fast and easy. One of my favorite vendors ever.........

Remember, this is all supposed to be for fun...................
