But its all OK. Every time I hear of a fatality or just a crash, I'll smile. Knowing the rider probably deserved it. I just wish the guy down the side street would move away or die. He was out front with his bike barely running. You'd think a Harley that costs as much as they do would come with a muffler. If he spent as much time keeping the bike tuned as he does keeping it loud, he'd be a lot better off.

And I say...what an @$$ you continue to be rburg both here and other places. Stay safe.

So because they chose to ride a motorcycle that excuses them when they also ride like a douche balloon?

Maybe it is because there are so many car drivers vs bike riders. But as a group I've seen more naughty rage inducing behavior from bikes than I've seen from cars. And of course it is rare to see them wearing a helmet, let alone proper riding gear.

I can honestly say I haven't seen douchebaggery from motorcycle riders. Maybe I'm ignorant to not recognize it when I see it. And in CA, they have to wear helmets even if it's the flimsiest kind.

Wheel popping and speeding, yes, but they're not doing it near me.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." That's outrageous! I know it's done to avoid paying debts like the one you mention, but to leave a man in pain and needing what may be millions of dollars in medical procedures shouldn't be allowed.

I think that incurring a debt with the intention of declaring bankruptcy to avoid paying it, is prohibited. So should declaring bankruptcy to avoid debt resulting from a lawsuit or negligent act.

Amen to that.

I have owned motorcycles since 1975. I guess I did all of my stupid shit on dirt bikes because I never assed around on the street. Never. Like everyone, I see asshats daily in cars, trucks, on motorcycles and bicycles, plus those on foot. I especially notice the ones on motorcycles because I feel bad behavior just makes it tougher on decent people to ride. Seems like 999 times out of a 1000, it's a guy barely in his twenties. And I farking loathe them, but I'd never damage one intentionally. One thing I do for all asshats (2, 4 or more wheeled) is move over and let them by if the road is clear of traffic. It means they go the hell away and I'm all for that. I have no qualms holding them up on the road though, making them suffer traffic with the rest of us, if I've witnessed enough of their douchebaggery to make a sufficient ID by then.

By the way, shouldn't this OP have been in the 'What's Your Deal' section?

After my first year of riding I realized it does no good to get upset at the other people on the road, even if they've almost killed me.
A quick wave usually calms them down and they wave back, usually in embarrassment.

So rburg, I'm just going to /wave and keep riding. Have a nice day.

Maybe this'll get you smiling then, rburg.

One of my family members was tapped on his motorcycle going around a curve on a two lane road - car driver was possibly drunk or hungover; my family member was thrown from his bike into a light pole. Dead. No fault of his except being in the way of someone who couldn't control his car, from what I understand..

Smiling yet? Hopefully that brightens your day. It certainly ruined mine.

How's the sympathetic ear your were looking for RBurg? There a lot of idiots with guns too. Do you secretly hope they shoot themselves? Maybe they can take out their babies sleeping in the next room...bet that would give you a good chuckle too. Fuck is wrong with the OP. Did a Harley run away with the misses or something? Sheesh Roll Eyes

The OP is frustrated but has a dickhead attitude about seeing a biker hurt and killed.

I have a current motorcycle license and have ridden for years and I absolutely despise the straight pipes on any Harley. There is no lower form of sound, including the cat coughing up a hairball at 3 AM, than straight pipes.

I've talked to so many riders and they all say, "It's about safety so cars can hear us." Uh no, it's about making loud noise. Why don't we all run straight pipes on cars, trucks and other bikes if we believe that noise means safety?

Let me wrap this up by also saying the when you have a straight pipe rider going down a street or through a neighborhood where the sound is so load that it sets off car alarms, that's not a safety or consideration of others issue. Long after the rider is gone the alarm is still going off.

So yes, the OP was a dickhead but as a fellow rider, I have complaints about the straight pipes. Riding is not about all riders uniting and respecting all other riders with unquestionable loyalty.
