Found Interesting items while Cruising through the images of the local estate auction
Do this from time to time, haven't made it down there yet, occasionally you see some interesting things come up, firearms are few and far between, however a couple of interesting items popped up

A Coin collection, believe there are several silver dollar proof coins..

Check out the baseball cards, Ernie Banks 58 all Star, Bart Star, Don Maynard, Len Dawson, I think I had those as a kid...

There can be many good finds,if you know what you are looking for. I always seem to buy things that are no longer collectible unfortunately.

If your area is anything like mine, those coins will sell for more than they’re worth. Don’t know about the baseball cards- it really all depends on the interest. But auctions tend to bring out the stupidity in people, who seem to find it enjoyable to overpay for things.

I have been to ONE auction that was not for charity. I went because they had TONS of guns so figured a deal or two would not be an issue.
Boy, oh boy was I wrong people were running these things sky high and then a buyers fee on to of that. It was nuts.
I did get a Browning Buckmark for $224. I did not really want it. I could not believe for the life of me no gave an opening bid. So they called it a few times so figured what the heck. Held up my little flag to start the bidding at $200. No one else bid so after my 12% buyers fee I had me a $224 Browning Buckmark Silhouette.

I went to an auction one time that had glassware and a few guns.
They sold the guns at the end of the day, IIRC I picked up 12 for around $450.
03s,1917s,FN-49 Argy, several lever guns and a Finnish M-39.

Deals can be found. A few years ago I picked up an unfired P228 for $750, a P220 with Euro mag release for $500, a like new Traditions percussion cap muzzleloader for $55 and an unfired Beretta Neos for $160.

But I often see people end up paying more in the auction than what the same gun costs new. I watched a VP9 go for over $1000. A lot of Beretta 92s are going over $700.

Keep in mind that the coins in some of these commemorative silver proof sets are only 40% silver.

So they may not be the 99.9% silver content of something like a Silver Eagle, or the 90% silver of pre-1964 US coins.
