Grew a mustache while still in the Army (1971) and haven’t shaved it since then.

I added a beard when I ETS’d and haven’t shaved it completely off since then.

Last time I was clean shaven, my son was less than a year old. He will be 48 the end if this month.

53 years + on mustache, probably 15 years on beard, e.g. long time!

54 years for me that I started the day I was released from active duty in the Army. Never shaved off since.

1980 ish. I’d have to dig out an old photo album to get closer in time.

Grew mine (along with a scraggly beard) when the Z-Gram came out authorizing beards for sailors. 1971?

Shaved it off twice since then. First time was for CPO initiation. I knew enough about that particular exercise that I did NOT want something that would hold noxious odors (limburger cheese, anyone?) on my face. Grew it right back.

Can't recall what the occasion was the second time, but the shock of seeing my bare puss hanging out was enough to swear me off razors forever. Did trim it pretty radically when I went to work for Lockheed to meet the dress code.

I had a decent mustache when I was 17, round about 1986. Shaved it on 1987, and grew a beard last fall. Guess my beard is four months old now, so just a youngester. People around town don’t recognize me sometimes.

Time: Probably a couple years, grew it all out a bit
Been letting it grow out a bit more & it's getting a bit long for me. Still experimenting on trimming it to a comfortable length.

Current trimmer only has 1 (stubble) 2 or 3 for options.
Wife likes it a bit longer than 3, so need to see what the Wahl I have can do.

When I got out of the Marines in 2001 I swore I’d never shave my face clean again. I’ve only broken that promise once and immediately regretted it.

I've shaved it once since leaving bootcamp in 1978. I've added the goatee and now if the goat gets shaved in the future the stache will have to go too. Whenever I see someone on tv with a stache it looks like a used car salesman or a 70's pornstar and I don't want to look like either one.

Hmm.. well my wife and I have been married just over 50 years and I grew a full beard with mustache shortly after we married. I shaved it all off once and my then 2 year old wouldn’t come near me, so I re-grew it. Been there ever since.

I had one when I was in Vietnam, then shaved it off. Grew one back in late 90s and still have it. I do keep it groomed.
