Interesting as they recently built a 1200 acre $25 billion chip manufacturing plant near Austin. Wonder why they didn't headquarter close to that plant?

Cost of living for employees, most likely. A friend was in tech - they put certain branches in Austin, due to the labor pool, but put the rest in Dallas, for cost.

Samsung has been in NJ for decades.

Probably because Taylor Texas is not the place Samsung executives (and their wives) want to live. It's a hick town compared to Plano. (That said, the BBQ and Mexican restaurants can't be beat!)
