So David had a thread regarding sending him used jewelry for scrap a few weeks back and I had just had a gold chain break so I wanted to send it in for him to assess and see if it was worth fixing or just getting the scrap price.

Well long story short my chain (being a hollow one) was not worth much in scrap and so I asked if I could just pay the shipping back and whatever he thought his assessment services would be I’d cover as well As I would rather have the chain back rather than get about $15. Not only did David say don’t worry about the shipping costs but he actually didn’t want to send me back a broken chain, so he had his jeweler take the time to fix it for me. I have read that fixing hollow chains is a nightmare for jewelers so I greatly appreciate the service, surprisingly all for no cost to me.

I can tell you based on this experience if I’m ever in the market for a watch or some other specialized jewelry in the future I will take my business to David as he has proven to be both an excellent businessman and compassionate human being and like so many others on this forum he seems to be an amazingly upstanding citizen, and it is a pleasure to have people like him on this board.

Finally thank you to Para for running such an awesome online forum for all types of discussions as I have enjoyed this forum DAILY for over 13 years now and have no intention of quitting anytime soon.

Even with him being ~1,600 miles away. Dave is my go-to if I am in the market for anything jewelry-related.

Got my Citizen (via my wife) and a pair of earrings for her, both through Dave.

Nothing but good to say, but we all already knew that Big Grin

Totally Agree with all the high praises of Dave's abilities and character. Dave custom made my daughter's wedding ring and not only did it end up looking much much better than anything you see in a mall jewelry store, it cost less!

Yep. He's currently working on my wedding band, made my fiancee's engagement ring as well. If I need jewelry, he's first and last on the list. Only reason we aren't getting her band through him is she's getting either thin plain band or one from Costco with a few chips in it so as not to distract from her gorgeous engagement ring.

PS he's 3,000 miles from me.
