well, this morning I gave my pup breakfast, but she did not eat it. I just figured that it was because she was excited to go to my friends house for the day. But when I took her out to potty before we left, she was acting a little "off". I didn't really think much of it. We go to my friends house, and she was acting fairly normal. So we go out to dinner, she's taking me out for my birthday dinner. When we get home, her dad was there and said that Sunny got sick, threw up 4 or 5 times and was acting strange. It was her dinner time and I tried to give her food, she wouldn't eat anything again, so I put the food up and told my friend that we are going home. When we was going to the car Sunny laid down and wouldn't get up. So I picked her up and put her in the car. On the way home, she started to wimper and trimble. We get home and she got worse, so I called the Vet, the emergency nurse asked me some questions about what was going on and told me not to give her any food or her insulin tonight, and no more water until 6 hours after the last time of vomiting and to watch her closely. So far, she is doing better, but she pants hard off and on. She is a little more active, but still acts Lethargic. She just turned 10 at the end of August, she has been very active, and well. She has been diabetic for a little over 4 years. I'm worried about her, but the nurse didn't seem to think she needed to be taken to the emergency Vets, and she seems to be a little better. Need some prayers and well wishes, this has really raised my stress levels, I just started back full time and my finances are not in a good place. ARman Update. At 2:00 AM she woke me up with a howl. I got up and she was panting again tired to get up and collapsed. I called the emergency Vets and told them what was going on and told them that I was on the way. Because if COVID rules. The nurse said that she believed Sunny wasn't in any danger and wait until morning and just take her to her regular Vets. The alarm went off at 5:00 AM, Sunny D started to get up, whimpered vomited and collapsed and stopped breathing. I tried giving her CPR, but no response. I have been holding her in my arms since. I called work and told them I'm in no shape to drive a school bus. I'm just laying here with her now, it all my fault, I should have told them that I was coming anyway. RIP my sweet baby angel, snuggy bear. ARmanThis message has been edited. Last edited by: ARman,

Will be sending some prayers ARman. I know the helpless feeling. My 2 year old Chocolate Lab has Epilepsy and has been having seizures about once a month. I hope it's nothing serious. Sometimes, you gotta roll the hard six

Shit man do you not have an emergency vet nearby? That sounds like something bad enough to get checked out ASAP. ________________________________________________

I don't know what to tell you. Does she chew stuff like socks or something else that she may have swallowed to cause a blockage. Any chance she ate something that made her sick. Good luck.

Do---or do not. There is no try. |
Prayers sent, my wife and I are huge dog lovers. Don't be shy about asking the vet questions when it comes to having to make decisions that could be expensive. Lots of animal clinics understand if finances are tight and are willing to work out payment plans. Fingers crossed, hope everything goes well.

The nurse didn't think that she needed to go to an emergency Vets. The closest one isn't very good and really expensive, and payment at time of service. The better one is 45 minutes away. The nurse said keep a good eye on her, and if she stays the same or gets worse go to the emergency Vets. So far she is doing better. More active, acting more normal. All the same I'm worried a little about it. The Vet is calling me in the morning, she is a mobile Vet, going to schedule a meet up. ARman

Well, the nurse thinks that it might be because she stole my friends dogs treats last night, and ate some of their food before we got it away from her, she is on a special diet. So that is what the nurse thinks the problem is. ARman

My regular Vet has a payment plan available, so I'm hoping that Sunny stays stable or gets better until tomorrow. Sunny is doing better, but she still is acting sick. I'm worried but hopeful that it's because of getting into the other food and just has her a little off. ARman

I hope your pup bounces back really soon Bandit ate 3/4 pound of rat poison just before I moved. She recovered from that. Last year she got bit by a rattlesnake. Pups are very resilient.
