Thomas the Tank Engine and such deemed "Fascist"

MrToadThomas the Tank Engine and such deemed "Fascist"
More Orwellian nonsense. Thomas the Tank engine and such ilk are apparently
fascist.
quote:
These shows also help children navigate their paradoxical relationship with power. On one hand, they desperately want some power. Watching the pups in "Paw Patrol" go on a mission or the trains in "Thomas" being useful allows them to feel as though they too have an important role to play.
On the other hand, children take comfort in the idea that someone is in charge. To them, Ryder isn't a megalomaniac, and Sir Topham Hatt of "Thomas" isn't a neocolonial autocrat. They're just the guys delegating responsibilities to their eager inferiors. And the fact that these leaders, both white males, look like most figures in position of authority in the real world is not lost on children.
"Children know there are a lot of scary things in the world, that there are a lot of bad things that can happen, and these shows make them feel like they could be part of fixing it," Klein said. "But they know at some level that they can't take care of things solely on their own, and being part of a team makes them feel safe."
Among these cartoons' many critics exists a subgroup of parents who are OK with some degree of autocracy and Manichean dualistic politics but just wish they would be presented with more nuance**.
**Nuance = passing the inspection of the Leftist commissars.
If you like religion, laws or sausage, then you shouldn't watch them being made. December 23, 2017, 12:13 PM
cruiser68What a crock of shit. So basically everything I grew up with was horribly racist and it turned me into a horrible racist myself. I am hoping that the drive to these ridiculous claims about everything has a huge backlash when most ordinary people realize they are completely full of shit.

ALL of the cartoons of yesterday have been deemed evil and thus, removed from the airwaves.
* Popeye promoted violence
* Roadrunner cartoons depicted coyotes getting pummeled by anvils - violence
* Merry Melodies - especially the ones created while WWII was going on promoted racism towards the Japanese and Germans
Our overlords determined these cartoons were unfit for consumption by our children and have been censored from the airwaves.

JDHunzRemember that Jonny Quest was too violent to be aired except during prime time back in the day. That show, one of my favorites growing up, would never be allowed today...

What about the 3 Stooges? All those hours of watching the 3 Stooges has scarred me for life. For the longest time, I thought I enjoyed watching that show. It is only now, after having been enlightened, that I understand how truly tortured I was.

Manichean dualistic politics
Manichaean theology taught a dualistic view of good and evil. A key belief in Manichaeism is that the powerful, though not omnipotent good power (God), was opposed by the semi-eternal evil power (Satan). Humanity, the world and the soul are seen as the byproduct of the battle between God's proxy, Primal Man, and Satan.

I thought he did a great job on the Thomas episodes he narrated.
