I am considering the 12 mini for its smaller size and lighter weight. I use it almost exclusively for texting, music and camera. But the camera is ultra important to me. I'll have the photos decades after the phone is e-waste.

Then, despite its larger size, you ought to consider the iPhone 12 Pro. Three cameras with 13mm-, 26mm-, and 52mm-equivalent focal lengths. Each with 2x optical zoom. I love mine.
With Apple’s image processing magic, my Sony RX10 now sits unused in a cupboard. A 13mm- to 104mm-equivalent optical range satisfies nearly all of my photo requirements. 13mm-equivalent is frikin’ wide!

VeeperI have one. I love that it fits in my pocket so easily. I am rather blah about the rest. I had a 12 for a couple months and I may switch back at some point. Charging (hitting the wireless charging spot) is harder, typing is harder, and the battery life is worse than the 12.

Picked it up from the local Verizon this morning, it's a cute little thing.
Will take a little time to get used to it, but I'm certain I'll like it. It really does disappear in a pocket and goes back to the "traditional" phone size. Haven't really had time to check out the camera, but I already know it's better than what was on the XR.
