I mean, I know the world has gone to hell in a handbasket and everyone has run out to get armor and such, but is there some break in the supply chain for fabric?

I've been trying to get a Haley Strategic chest rig for MONTHS now, and they've been out of stock. Signed up for in-stock notifications and have gotten literally nothing, so they're just flat out.

Everywhere I look, you can't get anything that's nylon related.

Is it just a demand spike, or is there a covid related supply issue?

I thought it was absurd when I had to wait like 2 months to get a danged pair of pants from Crye pre-covid, so this is just ludicrous.

Dango got an election coming up, and one team is acting like they wont be accepting the results, and even if they do they're planning to get froggy. If there was stuff you were looking to buy, it's probably too late now for a while. Time to dance with what you brought, and all that.

Yep. "Run what you brung" as they said at the dirt track when I was a kid. That, or go with another option that isn't a Haley Strategic in the meantime. Chinese airsoft stuff ordered from Amazon would still be better than having nothing at all and having to resort to throwing all your mags in a shopping bag and tying it to your belt.

I've already got a sufficient chest rig from a decade ago, so I'm willing to be choosey about my upgrade to the HSP carrier, which will be compatible with the plate carrier I'm still waiting on.

SML, thanks for the tip. I didn't realize HSP products were available not direct from them!

Lots of reasons, main one is the entire supply chain for manufacturing has been up-ended due to pandemic. Depending on where the items are manufactured, having available sewers and being in compliance of that county's health and safety laws, may be the biggest hurdle. Many distribution centers are operating at about 70% capacity at-best due to these limitations.

Lots of labor employees have opted to stay home and collect unemployment & stimulus checks during this whole thing.

Another factor is the sew houses that companies contract to have these items made, may not be open or, have limited their output. Lots of sew houses have closed, some have looked at their list of work orders and determined who's orders they'll work on, and who's gets pushed to the back of the line based upon their pay history, relationship, or complexity of the work.

As for long delays, it took me nearly 8-months to finally get a holster from Safariland. Most of these models were going to fulfill gov contracts but, there was a nice email reminder that I jumped all over once it came in. Most tactical brands don't have a lot of capitol same, can be said for tactical dealers/retailers, thus they don't build a lot of extra inventory margin into their work orders; they'll fulfill contracts first, then dealer orders, then retain a bit of inventory for on-hand availability.

As corsair said, the entire supply chain is upside down.

Let's use China for our first example. Most stuff in China shuts down for the Chinese New Year. This year that was from 1/25 through 2/4. But instead of re-opening, they went into lockdown. And no manufacturing happened for about 6 weeks. And then it took another 4 weeks for things to ramp up. So for nearly 3 months, there was no or very limited production.

Or another area I deal with is Honduras. They shut down around the same time we did. But they were fully shut down for 3 months. When they allowed re-opening, it was a max of 50%. But wait, there's more! When they re-opened, public transportation did not re-open, so no one could actually get to work. A company I work with had to charter 17 buses to bring employees in and out of work.

These factors alone would have made things bad. But then add in increased consumer demand, and it goes from bad to items being non-existent. We will continue to feel the effects of this supply chain disruption well into 2021.

I agree that the supply chain is fubar right now. It took me forever to find a av reciever anywhere. But Haley Strategic is known for being out of stock for long periods!! even before the virus

He’s making a big order for Brownells. Brownell will let you order, but out of stock so at least you get on the list.

I have his AR and 7.62 pouches. Would like a 9mm stick pouch for my PCC.
