Liberty (or other) Safes
Been eyeing Liberty safes online. There’s a dealer 30 miles away so I can get one delivered there. Are there any other brands that compare with Liberty as far as price/quality?

Liberty is my favorite. I started with a cheaper Timber Ridge by Liberty as my first safe.

I like Liberty. But after researching I ended up purchasing an Amsec BF series on the suggestion of many on here. I could not be happier with my choice.

I bought an AMSEC

Talk with a1abdj here on the forum. He is a dealer and an awesome resource. It’s who I purchased through

Look into Drake and Amsec as others suggested.

AMSEC

The dealer I bought from sold Fort Knox, AMSEC, Rhino, Winchester, etc. On his showroom floor he had a Fort Knox that was 2x the Price of a AMSEC BF cut apart, a BF cut apart, and a Winchester cut apart. You can tell AMSEC's engineer's on fireproofing worked together with their engineers on security, it carried through to the factory, and it resulted in their fire performance. Something went wrong between engineering departments and the factory on the other brands.

I have a Liberty Fat Boy I bought years ago. I like it and fire resistance is good.

There is price, quality of appearance, and then there is the most overlooked feature in the safe industry.....can this safe actually thwart a group of amateurs with a quality fireaxe. The unfortunate answer is no.

Any safe can keep your kids and the neighbor out. If you need more than that - look at companies like AMSEC and STURDY.

I'm going with the Sturdy. As if 3/16" steel walls weren't already thicker than most on the market, the 42x27x72 comes standard with thicker 4ga steel walls and a 3/8" solid door.
