Anyone have any experience with this program? As I understand it, invitees attend a four week intensive coding boot camp and top performers are selected for further training, all free. I know someone who is headed to the boot camp but I'm leery of the "free lunch" aspect of this. Is there a catch somewhere? https://www.42.us.org/ ________________________

Last time I attended a boot camp, some asshole with a strange looking hat shoved a rifle in my hand and told me to sing "I Want to Kill Charley Cong!" What's this other boot camp you're talking about? And yes there were free lunches after about 200 push ups and some crab crawls. __________________________ "Para ser libre, un hombre debe tener tres cosas, la tierra, una educacion y un fusil. I do not like their website. Looks like a scam or informercial to me. I like accredited universities. They can be a ripoff too, but less so. Anything that screams FREE!!! is a turn off to me.

That website looks like a cult recruitment. Very odd.

I think it’s amazing that a French billionaire (Xavier Niel) wants to help students get a free tuition. To develop engineering skills without being in debt or worrying about money is an incredible improvement of the current model of education in the US. They even have a great video with a lot of popular faces, from SnapChat’s Evan Spiegel to Facebook’s David Marcus, Twitter’s Jack Dorsey etc. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse...s-us-alexei-chemenda 41

as 41 (how apropos) points out it's backed by a french billionaire, I have a feeling he's looking for innate talent for some other project.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's legit. The other place I've seen where tuition is free is that you sign an agreement to pay back your tuition from your future earnings. It's a percentage of how much you earn capped up to the amount of the tuition. In a way they're saying their training is good enough to guarantee you a job. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual."
