modern components can help make the ride a bit smoother (I can't remember my last "chain drop" on a single-track ride, for example, and disk brakes don't fear mud coatings the way cantilevers sometimes did) but ultimately it's the engine that counts. And at my age, I'd see a bigger jump in performance by working out more and dropping a few pounds than by getting lighter or faster-shifting components on the bike. Or, I can go "e-bike" and get assistance that might make my rides 30 miles instead of 15 or 20. That's a decent segment of the guys I've seen on them... 10 or 15 years older than me, and putting in some serious work on their rides, but the mechanical "boost" is there to make it more enjoyable when needed.

Don't get rid of your Fisher regardless. All that's old is cool again in some circles. Witness the "Eddy Merckx" category in a lot of the USA Cycling time trial events... steel bikes that are older in some cases than the race officials. Sooner or later...

Any “biker” who gripes about people with electric bikes being on their lanes, trails etc is the kind of a-hole who makes people despise bicyclists.

The reality is, if the roads are right for them, they are a great way to commute around most denser towns/cities. (I just bought a weekend house. If the roads weren’t so dangerous, I’d get a cargo bike, as everything is .3 to 1.7 miles away.). Admittedly, it’s flat, and I’m only 40, so I’d just pedal - but there is not a legitimate reason to complain about an electric bike.

OK...I finally got my Cheetah and had a chance to ride it today.

I went on a 5 mile ride this morning and it performed great. That was a good range for my ass that is not in bike shape, if you know what I mean Wink

This afternoon I rode it to my favorite Neighborhood Sports Bar for Happy Hour. It was a perfect ride. The city has been closing down Main Street to cars so the restaurants can set up their tables on the sidewalks and street for outdoor dinning.

It has been a bit of a hassle getting some bugs worked out. I did not buy it from a Bike shop because the bike shops near me do not sell the Revi Cheetah. I bought it from a guy who Reps the company. He assembled the bike at home and delivered it to my home. When he gave it to me he told me he struggled with the disc brakes and they were rubbing badly.

He told me to take it to my local shop and he would pay for the service to get the issues taken care of. That was fair to me but delayed me from riding it for two weeks. That's all in the past now and I had a great time with it today.

I'm very happy with my purchase!!!

Yesterday (11th) was in a local bass pro store and they had 2 off road E-bikes for in excess of $3000. One had a small trailer attatched(that is what I said= trailer)> also on display was a 3 wheel tricycle style off road knobby tires in excess of $6000. Both looked heavy duty due to frame construction of fat tube frame. did not get name of bike. ..................................... drill sgt.

Went through that Revi site. That cheetah is really cool.
Hard tail frame, how is it taking bumps? Light trails?
You ordered everything on line?
No dealers in AZ.

I went on line and found a company (a guy) that was 30 miles away from me. He was a rep for Revi Bikes. I contacted him and bought it through him. Maybe their is somebody somewhat local to you that does the same...

You can also just order one online and have it delivered in the box to you. If you go this way and you are handy or enjoy putting things together maybe that would be the way for you.

I also checked with my local bike shops and they said if I got it shipped to them they would assemble it for $125-$200. My guy said he would assemble it for me, but I ended up taking it to my local shop anyway .

With the massive tires and the big seat it rides pretty smooth...
