A Texas woman shot at two suspected robbers, wounding one, early Tuesday morning when they allegedly reached into her car to grab her purse, according to a report.
Lachelle Hudgins had just parked outside her home in southwest Houston around 2:30 a.m. when the suspected robbers reached through her driver’s side window, according to KTRK-TV. She told police several other men were also near her parking space.
Hudgins grabbed her gun from her purse and fired the only two shots left in her gun, hitting one of the men.
"It was all I had in my gun. I shot until I couldn't shoot anymore," Hudgins said. “I saved my life.”
All of the men ran away when Hudgins fired and the wounded man was found a short time later on the other side of the apartment complex.
He underwent surgery and is expected to face aggravated robbery charges, KTRK reported.

She couldn't afford a full box of ammunition, so she bought a couple of "loosies."

I’m picturing a little old lady with a revolver that had whatever ammo she had in it at the time. Kudos for doing what needed to be done instead of freezing up.

Driving in humid Houston with your windows down this time of year usually means smoking. Each Cigarette costs almost as much as a round of ammo.

2:30 AM? Maybe just got off the late shift. She hit 50% so not too bad.
I have seen something that leads me to believe she is a bartender, so yes, getting home from work at 2:30 am would probably be routine for her.
Maybe this experience will convince her that it is a good idea to have more than two rounds loaded, especially if her normal commute home from work is at that time of night.

That's all she had remaining from earlier when she had shot other criminals.

Do you need AC at 2:30am in Houston?
I see she went to the Sheriff Grady Judge School for Shooting Bad Guys.

You need a/c in Houston 24/7/365. When I was job-hunting in Texas 39 years ago I was told I could earn $10,000/yr more in Houston than in Dallas--I said it was worth that much to avoid the Houston climate. (I still think so.)

I don't agree with the whole idea of "comfort animals". Anyone who has to have an animal with them all the time should just stay at home with it, and seek mental health counseling.
I am not discounting the fact that having a pet animal can be comforting--I have 6 cats in my house and enjoy interacting with them a lot. But I don't take them with me when I travel--I have a trusted person come to my home each day I'm gone to take care of my kitties.
I certainly do not approve of having any "comfort animal" that is larger than a cat or small dog, especially if one insists on traveling with it (which I think should not be allowed).
The above diatribe does not extend to true "service animals" that are there to perform physical tasks for their owners. I think those animals are remarkable and are worthy of some accommodation.
