modern day slavery
The news is full up with people who want slavery back.

Instead of living in a country where everyone wants to fight your way of thinking, wants to ridicule you daily about your life choices,
why not just move?

Aren't there 12 or 15 countries where they encourage slavery of man beast and child?

wouldn't life be ultra appealing to just live life with your slaves and NOT be scrutinized and scolded?

Human trafficking is a way of life in more than a few places on the globe.
I am betting that if you start a go fund me page , you could get all the money you need , and then some to just relocate where you could be as content as the day is long.

Or is it that you just require huge amounts of attention ?

there are people waiting for you and your slavery interests in many other countries.

I think we're all at least a part time slave when we work for the money that goes to taxes.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Property Taxes, and their never ending cycle, especially for land and improvements that are already otherwise paid off, are definitely a vile version we have to endure, and it's so entrenched within the system and has so much momentum that they'll likely never end, even though the very idea is as antithetical to freedom and liberty and ownership as it gets. You cannot and do not own something if you keep having to rent it, under threat of seizure, perpetually, at a variable rate set by others... Can. Not. Yet, it's the reality within which we all live and work.

We're all still slaves - only the degree has changed. Granted, it's changed a lot, and it's largely a great/free place to call home, but slavery is not gone and we are not *that* free.

Sure, theoretically, "we" could change it, but "we" can't even figure out how to provide better access to (and more affordable) health care, or protect our physical borders, and a thousand other issues.

We're too distracted and there are too many laws now for many real improvements to ever happen. So much of our time is spent trying to slow the rate of further mistakes, instead.

I'd like a time machine if for no other reason to go back and try to stop the expansion. Or back when the Constitution was being drafted and enacted - and include some improvements, clean up the 2nd - for instance.

^^^ This. Plus most of these people aren't from here. And trying to keep these modern day slavers out of the US or trying to kick them out would be racist.

Bendable, you're not racist are you?

I'll call the thought crime police. I'm sure they can give you all the help you need.

The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People again must learn to work, instead of living on public assistance. ~ Cicero 55 BC
