armoredIts bad here behind enemy lines in Chicago.
Good thing is the smell of burning wood beats the smell of the Dems.
I'm closing in on 75. Why don't I ever remember "smoke from Canada" ever happening here until the last few years.

chbibcWe will be out on the boat on Lake Ontario Friday night. I am curious what the sunset will look like (if there is one).

Some ShotAQI of 450 this morning is the worst I've ever seen.
Fortunately we still have the boxfan/filter I taped together a couple years ago when CA was doing this to us. It makes quite a difference between the fine particle levels on the upper and lower floors.

divilHeaded to TCMI in a week. Glad the socialist simps to the north can find the budget to compel speech but not train and deploy forest fire crews…

RightwireSaw a report tonight claiming the Metropolitan Detroit area has the worst air quality in the world since the smoke moved in.

abnmacvBut there are regular articles in the press that everything in Canada is perfect. So, what's with the "negative" articles and people complaining about a bit of smoke?

smlsigMy wife is hyper sensitive to particulate matter in the air. Last year we bought a couple of these air filters and it has really helped in case someone is considering doing the same…

92fstechAQI of 225 here this morning. Normally I run before work, but I walked outside this morning and it looked like fog, but smelled like a camp fire. Not running in that crap.

pace40Definitely worse today than yesterday. Seems like the smoke is closer to the ground. Neighbor's barn is usually visible. Can't see it this morning. Smell is much stronger too.

r0gueI'm having lung issues following surgery. I'm stuck inside, and spent an hour awake coughing uncontrollably last night. It's supposed to clear from the Pittsburgh region around noon tomorrow. I expect those fuckers won't get those fires dealt with for months, so I hope to hell the wind directions keep it out of here.
Sitting on the porch with a fan, and short walks outside were my one source of joy in this surgical recovery. Damn....

gearhoundsGot home from a concert just after midnight last night in the eastern panhandle of WV. The haze was thicker enough to be mistaken for a light fog. The odor outside is pure wild land fire and reminiscent of several security deployments on big western fire over the years. Air quality projected today is well into the unhealthy range.
