Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.

It is thick! And mixed with fog.
Can't hardly breath out there this morning.

Yes, it's bad here in southeast Michigan. The worst I can recall in recent years.

Yeah, it's bad here today too. It's been pretty much a regular thing every summer for at least the last 5-10 years. Freaking liberal Canadians...lecturing us about climate change and pollution, but every year they let their whole country burn and create way more pollution than all our factories, cars, and farting cows put together Roll Eyes.

This is the worst I’ve seen it. 9am yesterday on Lake Huron:

It got worse later; visibility less than 500’. It’s supposed to be better today.

Here in CT, the sky is a pale orange, the sun a slightly darker shade of orange. Seems like twilight at 8 30 a.m. today.

Northern Minnesota is doing it's share to contribute. We have some barn burners going on in the BWCA (Boundary Water Canoe Area) the past week. They have jumped the border into Canada now. Smoke and smell is heavy here. Hang a steak up outside for awhile and pan fry it it will taste like you just smoked it.

Minnesota of course used the same forestry management model as California when it came to the BWCA. These fires will burn until we get some heavy snowfall.

The smoke is here in central VA as well and forecast to linger into the weekend. The satellite imagery on the NWS site shows the plumes streaming out of Canada.

Long Island, NY skies have been very eerie the past couple days...It's almost like Canada is sending us smoke signals every few years as a plea for help

I figure I'm a little bit southwest of you; so far, we're not yet seeing the smoke.

vthokie, I live just east of the Blue Ridge so we have the smoke. Southwest VA appears to be smoke free per the satellite imagery. I still have family in southwest VA but have not talked with them this week.

Link for satellite imagery.

Clear here today vs gray skies yesterday and the day before. When you could see the sun, it was a very eerie orange color.
