Yeti’s $300 Hondo beach chair.
I’ve had it for about a year now. At 16 1/2 lbs it quickly became too much for me to hoist over turtle fencing and sand dunes on a daily basis so it didn’t work as a beach chair. On the other hand, before I got around to returning it, it became my favorite chair for watching TV because it’s very comfortable, easy to get in and out of, and because I get flow through Tradewinds I prefer over a/c the very supportive breathable mesh is like sitting on a breeze. It’s also more solidly built than most of my other furniture so it turned out to be a good purchase, but not as a beach chair.

you’ll want to have this outdoor chair around the beach bonfire, tailgating party, and other places you don’t need to haul it too far for.

I wouldn't take a Yeti product if they gave it to me for free and it came with a handful of cash.

They’re overpriced but I’ve never had anything from them fail so far while my experience with various knock offs has been somewhat disappointing, such as not being dishwasher safe, gasket adhesive failure and flimsy zippers, etc.

The search function saves the day - again.

I had no idea how scummy they were.

Sorry, P210. I know I constantly caution members about interjecting politics into apolitical threads. I don't politicize Yeti products, though. Yeti politicized Yeti products.

Seriously, fuck those people and their overpriced stuff.

Yeti is in the same trash pile as Benchmade to me. I would never be caught with any of their products.

Bit of a thread hijack but here goes:
Living in the south west having an insulated water bottle that actually keeps things cold is pretty important to me.
Unfortunately despite trying several brands the only one that seems to do the job is a yeti
I can fill with ice and cold water and after 4-5 hours in the desert sun some of the ice is still intact.

Any suggestions on a good insulated bottle ?

The $9 Walmart version is very nice and keeps everything nice and cold for a full day. Its basically a clone of the Yeti, and about the same as an RTIC. We own about 10 of them and wife and I use them every single day. Great cups for ice water.

Yeti over the last 5-6 years has been trading on its name, price positioning and branding. It's a unique name, easy to say and they've managed to get themselves into just about every retail distribution network. From your technical outdoor shop, your favorite bait shack, every Ace and TruValue Hardware store to your big box national retailers and home stores. They've been aggressive in their marketing, they offer a wide range of colors and their dealers have eaten it up. For the knowing outdoors person, whether you're a hiker, climber, skier, boater, hunter or, fisherman...coolers, drinking vessels, now chairs...there are better in the market place not to mention their shitting on the NRA.

We use these and have had no issues at all. Keeps beverages cold all day.

For coolers, I bought a Kong cooler last year. Cheaper than Yeti and American made.

I have an RTIC soft side cooler and it’s completely inferior in every way to the Yeti soft sider.

Free Yetis: After I bought a Silverado, I began to get cards in the mail from Chevrolet that offered a free Yeti cup if I came in to the dealership and test drove other Chevys. Which I did. I actually got 2 or three of these cards every month and it went on for about a year. After about a month, I would flash the card to the receptionist at the dealer and she would hand me a cup. No test drive needed! I sold the cups or gave them to friends. I enjoyed the situation immensely after Yeti had crapped on the NRA.

It does suck when a shitty company makes a good product. It is great when a great company makes a great product.

I never would have had a clue of what this meant until now having been to Maui and staying at a friend’s where we had to open and close windows due to trade winds.
