Member behavior and the administering of SIGforum
I've never seen you be anything other than fair in the posts I've read in my years here. Additionally your patience with members is admirable. I can't point out any particular threads or instances but just an over all sense over the years of browsing. I'm glad to be a member and find myself having a sense of belonging, a place to come and kick off my shoes in front of the screen and thankful for the distraction from the machine of life.

Not to mention you're sense of humor which has me laughing to myself at the keyboard. I say thank you for providing the place to indulge in some of the uniqueness in a vast sea of diversity and personalities. It always keeps me coming back for more..

Oh yea, and the World Renown Cat Thread...Priceless!

I like the way you run this forum. I seldom speak, as topics are usually well covered from my perspective, and I feel very comfortable here. And thank you!!

I see this forum as a source of endless information. I want to learn and grow with the help of, what is it, 86,000 voices. If a discussion gets chippy, I generally move on. I spend more time here than any other site on the 'net. I just spent 30 minutes in a restaurant in Waco waiting for my food. Were was I? Right here.

Keep it up.
Mike

I've always tried to be a "get to the point, speak your peace and move on" type of guy.

I think the moderating is very fairly done here. Thanks for hard work.

I was friends with JAllen; we used to communicate by phone or e-mail from time to time after he moved to Texas. A couple of years ago he and I were both unhappy about the tone of political discussions on SigForum; Jim hadn't posted for a little while, and I was grumbling about quitting.
He told me he got a call out of the blue from Para; I don't know the content of the call, but it must have impressed Jim--well actually, it astonished Jim.
He went back to posting regularly and continued to do so as long as he was physically capable of it.
So that's the kind of "son of a bitch" forum owner we're talking about.

The members in the latter group all seem to fit a profile, a certain pattern. Whether they are from the Island of Misfit Toys, or similar, I sometimes wonder how these guys cope and function in the real world of jobs, real relationships, etc.

I think you've bonked me on the nose maybe 2-3 times in 15 years, going all the way back to the S&w forum.
I deserved it every time.
You sir, are no shrinking violet, and we appreciate that.

I had been a member less than 30 days when I made a post and was swiftly told in no uncertain terms that I was wrong. I learned from that too check and then double check all my facts before opening my big mouth. Thanks you para for this forum and the lesson you taught me. 13 years and I am still here.

There are only 2 gun forums I belong to, this one and Defensive Carry. I spend more time here due to the fact that the members over there get carried away with the name calling and childlike behavior that you put your foot on to squash before it gets out of hand here.

It's actually rather funny when you think about it, on SIGForum, to people can have a disagreement and still be respectful, the other one, not so much.

Thanks for keeping us in line and have a Happy New Year.

Yeah, nope. I have seen you be very direct. I have not seen you be a bully. If one can’t handle someone else having a different opinion than theirs and feels like they have to blather on interminably ubtil they convert the other party, I can see how they might feel like ran into a wall if you were the other party. Tough beans.

This is the only forum that I have gone to over the past 4-5 years and that is because how it is run by you and your mods. When people start to push the limits you or one of your mods are quick to right the ship.

Because of this people mind their manners and it shows in the atmosphere of this forum.

SIGforum is great! I’m very appreciative to be here. I’ve had to get a psychological uplift a time or three from you para, but you have always been more than fair! Most times, I forget there are also mods patrolling your forum, you do a top notch job allowing us to be ourselves and the flow of information makes this the finest forum out there.

Thank you for your dedication!! Happy New Year!!

"You can't have the last word when the guy on the other side owns that privilege and if that's too honest for some of you guys, that's not my problem. Again, I am not unique, and many if not most of you would feel the same way and react the same way as I if you were in charge."

Maybe, make this a sticky that needs to be memorized by all who debate hurt feelings here.

When I first acquired a P6 and found this site. I assumed it was run like most others...Not even close. There are reasons this "SIGforum" has and maintains the brain trust and Loyal members it has. And mostly it's from your efforts to control the BS that regularly appears on all sites. Appreciate the effort and a effort it must be. Kind of like herding a band of squirrels

It seems like the members who get sideways with you, para, and don’t back down.....haven’t been here for very long. They don’t understand how this forum works. Or they are just spoiled brats around whom the world revolves.

For those of us who’ve been fortunate to be long-time members, your message resonates with us and we give you a resounding “Amen!”

I am very proud to be a member here. I value the occasion that Para stepped in a defended me when a post I made was misunderstood. I respect him. And i appreciate his sense of humor.

I suspect the only people who think Para is a "bully " are those who, after being warned, stepped over the line and got their toes smacked by the hammer.
